View Full Version : How do I stun/interrupt/stifle?

<DIV>As far as I can tell, there are two problems doing stuns/interrupts/stifles...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) Delay - how the hell do I get a 1 sec cast time interrupt to land on a mob who is casting spells that take 1 sec to cast?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) There is no "xxx Begins to cast xxx" message as far as I can tell. I turned on "hostile cast", and even checked my log file - I can't find such a thing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is there anyway to stun/interrupt/stifle that works better than randomly mashing the button and hoping for the best?</DIV>

<div></div>It IS quite annoying, as the best stun/stifle melee class we get annoyingly long cast times... All I can say is you have to watch the mob.  On Epics where there's too many people around to see up-close, I'll play in 3rd person as far out as I can go.  There's always a visual cue to casting, even if it's small (ex. clouds around their feet means....Ice Comet coming!).  I try to keep Charging Tiger available exclusively for casting interrupt, since its got the .6 cast time.  Annoying and it limits my stuns a bit but...what're ya gonna do. I also will use the occasional taunt if my stuns are down...the minor hate gain isn't gonna do squat with a decent MT. Just as an aside....I'd love to see casting times upgrade as spell quality upgrades...ie Striking Cobra at Adept 1 and below has a 1sec casting time, at Adept 3 and Master has a .5 or .6 .....more incentive to upgrade some of those skills where the "upgrade" is not nearly worth the money you'll spend to get it.  Guess we'll have to wait and see after the combat revamp... <div></div><p>Message Edited by Nefarien on <span class=date_text>07-11-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:25 AM</span>
