View Full Version : Strength or Agility? Newbie question
<DIV>Hello all!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I recently just joined the world of EQ2 (yesterday evening) and find myself now at level 10. I chose the way of the Brawler and plan to choose monk at level 20.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am trying to plan ahead so that as I level I spend my points properly. I believe at level 8 I was able to choose some stats, i believe they were called traits? I chose Nimble for the agility boost. Monks are described as avoiding hits so I chose to raise agility. If I made a mistake I can live with that, it was only the first of many attribute raises im sure. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Should I place into agility? Or agility AND strength? I am a halfling so naturally my agility is higher and my strength is lower.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway thanks for any advice anyone has to offer on stats that should be focused on as a monk.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>/bow</DIV>

<P>Welcome to Monking!</P> <P>From the FAQ:</P> <P><STRONG>Which stats should I focus on as a Monk?</STRONG> </P> <P>Strength, Stamina, and Agility. There are two schools of thought on this topic: balance out all your stats, or take agility as high as possible. The +agility people focus on getting their avoidance as high as possible. The balanced group has two arguments: that +agility isn't that big a benefit anymore, and that because stats have less meaning at high levels you can get the biggest overall improvement by balancing them out. Personally, I just get the best gear I can find and don't focus on the specific stat bonuses on any of them.</P>
<P>Oh I completley missed the FAQ! Great info in there!</P> <P> </P> <P>I most likely agree with you on using the best gear I cna find and dont focus on any single stat. For the traits though do you believe that balancing them as well will be just as beneficial as massing agility?</P>

Honestly, the difference is so small (4 points) that it really doesn't matter which one you pick. It gives you a very minor edge, so you can work on a personal goal of being the strongest, or the toughest, or the most nimble, but it won't make or break you. <div></div>
