I've been doing these new Splitpaw zones and so many are solo. I can solo, but it is so slow and if anything goes wrong I'm dead. Lately I've just been getting [Removed for Content] with monks. I can't solo, our invis sucks, feign is mostly useless. how is it we are supposed to do these solo zones without vast amounts of cash and gear? As a 41 Monk I'm getting hit too often and don't hit for enough. Quietas Zedead 41 Froglok Monk Mistmoore

MIght be your play style There is ood information on here

To reiterate:

target mob in group, kill that mob. Assess yourself and determine if you need to run. If health/power is still good, continue to the next mob in the group. If low, break encounter, run back towards the teleporter. If you die, recover shard and complete the encounter. Even with debt, you still get about 15% exp out of the zone.

clear your way to the cage area.

remove the two along the right hand wall.

pull the fanatic, killing 2 of his minions first. break encounter, run back along wall towards entrance

regain health power (if you die, revive INSIDE the zone, not in thunderring steppes).

re-engage the fanatic, killing him first then his two friends.

kill the gnolls around the chest.

stack the boxes, climb up, open chest. examine shard. You are done.

If i can do this with a non-uber 20 bruiser.... there really should not be a problem.
I will admit to this. I havent' tried with a scout class, and from the rumors i have been hearing it is extremely difficult. I will have to level oggy up just to try this however i suppose.
Now this is for delving into Darkness, but the same tactics in defeating groups is still valid/

Message Edited by ganjookie on 07-01-2005 02:17 PM

Mob difficulty scales up pretty steep when you get to the 40's compaired to 20's I'm afraid. I just dinged 50 today and need to get a few adepts. I got the champion down to about 1/4 health before I died. I think with some nice alchemist potions and some messing around, with a few other ideas. It shouldn't be that bad.

Everyone loves a challenge I say, cuz it feels so good when you finally kick there butt.

I have yet to beat the Champ, after blowing up gnols last night, I went back to freeport and geared up on agi/sta/str and heal potions, as well as get some hex dolls ( shadow and fright) and some pristine embued legs and chest. Cant wait to get back there tonight to take him on again. That mushroom pet will be mine!!!

Just so you know, you can get the mushroom pet by taking the reward before the solo champion. Maybe even earlier. I think the extra reward for beating the solo champion is the bracelet.

Level 34 monk here, I have yet to beat any of the solo zones in Splitpaw, Champ creamed me.. I died everytime I tried the "blow up crates" solo. Died 3 times trying to complete Harclaves. I can solo anywhere else with ease, and i just own all the solo zones on my warden (he hasn't died ONCE solo in splitpaw), so you can leave out playing skill as the reason. The zone is designed for nonmelee classes, every group and most solo mobs in there are casters and/or healers.

Slow but steady wins! There is no social agro and no respawns, so as long as you clear a nice path to whereever you are going and establish a safe spot ot pull to, you can always retreat/FD to shake agro. With a hex doll you can darn near pull entire rooms from a single location, although once you get familiar with zones/pathing this isn't necessary. Other thing too is learn you gnolls. Deceivers, Psycophants, Malefactors a) can get you into bad situations and b) die in a couple hits. I actually love encountering groups with them cause you can dispose of them so fast... however, they can mess you up if not careful. I got feared by one once, and if it wouldn't have been for the fact that i got rooted on the edge of a cliff i was going over the edge. Even though you might feel like superman during Ark of Harclave, I still recommend slow but stead there too. If you get more than 3 groups on you, it gets pretty scary... when you have to use mend while buffed you know it was too much Hope this helps some...
