<DIV>Maybe i am not the sharpest knife in the drawer but i cannot seem to find a listing for command strings making macros. I guess more importantly do you guys even use em or like em. Any info as to teh actual command string for a CA macro would be greatly appreciated. As a sidenote you people that do use them can you build a multiple CA string such as our stun chain using wait commands in between CA's?</DIV>

What is so hard about pressing the right buttons at the right time? You dont need macros for that.

I don't use any. And, as far as I know, there are no wait commands. I recommend just learning the timing. It becomes second nature soon enough, and helps keep combat feel a little less dull, a little more entertaining than just mashing the buttons to earn experience points. <div></div>

I always use the same solo HO so I made it into a macro. Now the HO is just like a CA, apart from if one bit gets resisted you need to complete it manualy. Macroing it also makes it faster to use and complete. I think from memory you add these 3 lines into the macro: /useab Fighting Chance /useab Focused Strike /useab Taunting Slap useab is just short for useability but still works. As all the fighter single HOs use the same format you need never jump in unless something is resisted. This doesn't work so well for priest classes who's HOs sometimes require different spells. Also change the CAs used in the HO to whatever is current for you. <div></div>

<span><blockquote><hr>zaboron wrote:What is so hard about pressing the right buttons at the right time? Yes, you can do it manually, but a slight slip of the fingers and bam, wasted skill/stealth. On my swashbuckler I do a similar thing when soloing, toggle autoattack and fire a stun.. this lets me then jump behind and fire off a positional attack while they can't reface to me. Rapid fire HOs (as mentioned) are great... opening volleys for my inquisitor and fury that get DOTs or debuffs in faster and more consistantly than me fatfingering it.. And as a fighter the ever critical "Pull macro" (i.e. /g Attacking %T, please wait for my return or /g Attacking %T, please FOLLOW me) ... one fighter in my guild has whole hotbars set up for group macros to help manage combat (especially when with pickup groups until they know his style of pulling)... I even have a custom one that says "Get behind the mob Thoren" about 3 times in groupchat, since he tends to forget and stand in bad locations <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </span><div></div>

<DIV>The suggestions raised are good ones, especially the Ranger example. Monks don't really have anything like that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yeah, I use an incoming macro, and a few macros for things like /who all "my guild" and /who all friends. The previous posters covered them all I think. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

I dredged up one of the better informative posts on macros here: <a href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=Newbie&message.id=69655#M69655" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=Newbie&message.id=69655#M69655</a>
