Beh, as a 50 monk i wear 2 pieces of very * light armor on a regular basis (boots and robe) so i can say the minus2% mitigation doesnt mean that much, but the str is what u should shoot for. 88 vs 108 str is a huge boost in atk, dmg, and power. in all honesty avoidance and mitigation are pita atm for monks. I can be 42% mitigation 79% avoidance or 39% mit 82% avoidance....and i dont notice a hair of a difference. Beleive me im pro monk tank, but wearing light boots (cryptic) and the occasional dress, i find little to no problems tanking. I can solo 47^^ easy as long as they arent nukers.

Message Edited by Dfoley323 on 06-28-2005 10:57 AM

Method 1: You take (1-.36) * (1-.77) = 14.72% damage and have 88 strength.

Method 2: You take (1-.34) * (1-.7 = 14.52% damage and have 108 strength.

Method 2 is superior in every way, as you will take less damage overall, and do more damage, and have more Power available to you. The closer you get to 100% the more Avoidance benefits you. It's an exponential progression, not a linear one.

I very much recomend the second option with the 34 mit and 108 str. The difference in the mitigations you listed is not that big a deal, and the second option has the highest avoidance. Which is better then mitigation for us monks. And as someone said, you want the high str for sure. Absolutely want the 108 str. You will be putting out some serious dmg, which raises your dps which adds A LOT of agro to you, which is great. Monks get very few taunts and they are weak comparatively. So dps is your taunting.
Message Edited by Squidwalker on 06-29-2005 09:21 AM
