I read and hear a lot about the usefulness of this skill (Silent Fist). The description of it says it inflicts damage and stifles the target. The duration is shown as 20 seconds, with a 30 second recast timer. That all sounds great, but I just got this skill and solo against green mobs it doesn't seem like it stifles at all. The damage lands just fine, but there's no visible indication on the target that it's stifled, no new icons appear in my maintained spells window, and the mob continues to try to attack. I only had time to try it on green mobs solo, but if the description didn't say that it stifles the target, based on what I saw I would never have guessed it's supposed to.Maybe I don't know how stifle works, but when I'm stifled I can't do anything except move. I would expect the same from a mob, yet even when the skill landed the mobs didn't stop attacking. Can anyone shed some light on this skill, like how you can tell whether the stifle has landed, and how long it lasts? Thanks for your input.

<DIV>Stifle means that they can still attack but cannot use combat arts or cast spells.  Likewise, when you're stifled, you can still autoattack but you can't do anything else.</DIV>

<DIV>Best way to run your test is to use this spell on a casting mob.  Once you land a succesful stifle it should not cast on you for 20seconds but just sit there and melee</DIV>

Bonesbro, thanks for the added information on stifle. HL1240, I took your advice and tried it on a casting mob. When the damage part landed I did see that the mob didn't cast anything, so I assume the stifle part was working. I guess there just isn't a visible indicator of this anywhere. Since the recycle time is longer than the duration of the spell it works out ok. Still wish there was something in your maintained spells that would show a successful stifle though.

Err, Drayek is crush immune, so even when using a slashing weapon, Charging Tiger and Icy Talon don't land.  Or is there something you can do to make them work? <div></div>
