I'm lvl 39 with my Kerra monk, and rather than go out and spend lots of money and time getting legendary equipment for him during his 30s, i've decided to wait until 40. My question to you all is, what really are the good armor and weapons I can get at 40? I'm too casual of a player to do much raiding, aside from heritage quests, so most of that stuff is out of my reach. Suggestions on upgrades would be very much appreciated. And second, are there any skills in the 30-range that are worth upgrading to adept III, or should I just hold out for the 40+ ones?

Player crafted armor is pretty good and the rare crafter is even better.

Rare crafted weapons are good (e.g. cedar, figwarts, etc)

Quest items: FBSS, crook, collar of the obedient, curn eye necklace, slayer rings, Tranix crown, Jboots, Eboots, Zig earring, imbued rings, etc.

Normal armor: the thick woven gear is good (i.e. the armor with strength on it). Just do a search on the broker for any items with str mods.

If your not raiding, I wouldnt bother upgrading tier-4 spells. However Biting Mantis, Quiet Purity, and Striking Cobra could all be upgraded since they are the final spells in their line.

-Jenjer

Though it can certainly vary from server to server, I was buying raw augmented pieces for 20-25g each and having them turned into armor for about 10g per combine. A full suit of augmented armor (w/ imbued chest and pants) cost about 2.5 plat. Not a bad deal for something I'll be wearing for quite a while

(plus it looks pretty spiffy)

For the normal armor, i've noticed that thick woven armor has the same mitigation for every single piece: +320 magic and +180 mental. That makes it impossible to wear more than 1 or at most 2 pieces because it will screw your resistances up competely...you'll have a ton of magic and mental resist and only your jewelry for the rest.

Pristine Tailor Augmented armor ( Imbued Chest legs ) including range weapon if you can manage it.

Pristine Imbued Cedar Quarterstaff/Bo Staff

Pristine Imbued Ruby Rings ( I have the non-rare at the moment Agi and Sta )

Pristine Imbued Hex Doll of your favorite stat ( I have STR )

FBSS - Flowing Black Silken Sash ( Heritage Quest )

Braclet of Glowing Shards x2 ( This one can be costly, is on my server anyway )

Not sure on Earring and Necklace yet, am still working on those myself. If you are not a crafter of any of that it will prob cost between 3-5 plat ( Server Dependant ). But it is the best make up I have seen yet outside of raid gear.

Good luck.

Dalick Bloodclaw ( Awakening - Butcherblock )

If you cant afford rare weaons, augmented, ebon, cedar, I definetly recommend a nice pristine forged fulginate greatmace. Thats probably one of your best options

If you can afford ebon, that I believe is still your best of the crafted weapons also (2.5 delay).

If you want really penny pincher budget, look at a pair of augmented first wraps, all together those shouldnt cost you more then 1pp for a pair.

if y

The chest and pants get imbued with Luminous uncommon harvests from Tier 5 zones.

If you plan on going on high level raids, get yourself some legendary weapons so you can hit the mob. These also work GREAT while leveling too. I used a pair of imbued cedar 1/4staffs for a few lvls, then I got a set of imbued cedar fighting batons, and I recently got a set of imbue augmented cestii's(thinks thats what they are called). I also got a full set of augemented leather (except boots) too, which the chest finally got replaced by a nice peice of Fabled gear.

FBSS is a very nice piece of gear.

If you havent got the slayer ring of agilty, I would get that also, at your level, should be pretty easy. (That is the zone close to the Orical tower in Antonica)

You must do enough of the quests to get access to the second zone, the waterfall one. There is a named who is always up, Zig the fairy of destruction or something like that, who commonly drops the Zig earring. It has +15 agi and +80ish to all spell resists.

The imbued rings have clicky buffs; you can get one for each stat. The buffs last ~20 minutes, have unlimited charges, and do not stack with themselves, so you can have one str/sta/agi ring, but two agi rings will still only give you one buff.

Couple of points:

The non-rare T5 imbued rings are Bloodstone rings. You don't have to keep the rings on to keep the buffs. I have a Str, Sta and Agi. The buffs last 24 minutes, so I cycle through them, cast buffs, then leave one on and put on my Ancient Slayer's ring of Agility (every little bit of haste helps). On Crushbone (which seems to be a kind of expenisve server) you can get imbued bloodstone rings for 15g each.

The best non-fabled fighter necklace in the game is the Curn Eye necklace. It has +9 Sta and +12 Str, as well as very good mitigation and resists. It is a quest reward for a series of quests in Permafrost: http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/ProveYourStrength.php. The other great thing about these quests is that there are 8 of them, each rewarding 9g and change. Until you can use the Curn Eye at 49, I suggest either the Collar of the Obedient (+10 Str/+10 Sta) or the Enchanted Bone Necklace.

Thanks for the Info peeps. I don’t have Bloodlines so I will have to pass on the earrings BUT, it looks like I will be buying a few of those rings when I get home tonight! :smileyhappy:
