We solo extremely well. Not as well ast lvl 50 wizzies, but well above most classes. With average gear I was soloing oranges since around 25 or so when I first tried it. And at some point(can't remember exactly where) you can solo green group mobs fairly easily. At 50 I can take almost any lvl 45 group mobs(minus some named), and some lvl 46 groups. I can solo the broodmother a decent percentage of the time. None of this is in my opinion even close to being overpowering, I think we are fairly well balanced as a class. This is taking into account a few factors though: 1) You upgrade your gear and skills. Grey gear(except for certain items, i.e Zig's Wing) usually has lower mitigation and stats than gear apporpriate for your level. Upgrades in skills(to at least adept I if possible) add up and make a difference. 2) You use the right Stance for the occasion. Personally I hated all the stances except Brawlers Stance for soloing, until I got Spider stance. I pretty much always kept Brawlers on uless I was in a Tank heavy group, with little chance of me getting aggro. 3) You learn to play your class well. Believe it or not there is some skill involved. Learn what skill to use and when. Small tricks like opening with charging tiger, jumping behind mob and firing off Lunging Mongoose, Icy Talon, Silent fist. Make a huge difference. But I see Monks all the time, that just hit autoattack, stand face to face with the mob and hit specials randomly. This particular combo works great because you have Long stun(letting you get behind mob), most damaging attack(LM) given the best chance of hitting(Behind, stunned), Stun from LM, Stun from Icy Talon, Stifle from Silent Fist. Each feeds off the other for a better chance to hit. There are other combos I've seen that work very well also. <div></div>

<DIV>The whole "stun->stun CA-> stun CA, etc" combination effectively limits the mob to only be able to attack for about 2/3 of the time. More importantly, landing the stuns like how Lareal described also guarantees a successful hit. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In theory, if you were to only land attacks from the front, you run the chance of missing all of Lunging Mongoose and Icy Talon. That's about 1k damage alone you "could" miss if you just attack from the front. </DIV>

<P>I agree. I'm only lvl 20 but I can solo white, orange, and certain red mobs with usually no problem. You really have to learn not only your skills, but which mobs you can parry and which mobs take damage, etc. I can easily solo multiple green heroics (I have even survived 4 yellow heroics, but just barely). </P> <P>I keep my eq maxed out (orange or white) and am always on the lookout for upgrades with higher AGL stats. Learn to use FD or Breslin's and you can get out of most scrapes OK. I watch the forum for tips on how to play my char and I learn from those that are more experienced. </P> <P>Monks are a great class!</P>
<DIV>On solo mobs, monks probably are one of the better soloers since you can do extreme amounts of damage in short periods of time. Against group mobs, monks are probably the worst in trying to solo. We have no snare, slow, root, stun, power drain, dots, etc., i.e. we cant kite. Since we cant mitigate very well, we dont do great soloing group mobs. With that said, at level-50, I can solo 46++ mobs, and I would guess I could probably solo 47++ with better equipment.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Jenjer</DIV>
