<DIV>Can someone please enlighten me with the purpose of these CA's? I thought that they were upgrades to Crane/Dragon stance (which purposes were clearly defined), however I find the "upgrades" to be very confusing. For instance, winding dragon appears to be a tanking buff, but spider stance offers deflect/parry as well as not losing any attack power. Which do we use for what!!! Help a newb out...please!!!</DIV>

<DIV>Winding Dragon lowers your overall attack rating.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't think a 4% DPS boost is worth it. Throw Winding Dragon out the window. Spider stance is good enough as a defensive buff with no penalties.</DIV>

Just stay in Spider all of the time. WD's +dps buff doesn't stack with Quiet Purity, so you're trading off +10 tranquility for a melee skills penalty. <div></div>

Id be interested to see a master for Winding dragon. Its defense bonus seems to rise as u upgrade it. However tis last on my list of adept 3s to get As is, spiderstance is just as useles, 15defense/deflection, +17% haste (at master1) but the haste doesnt stack with everburning fire (45% at master1). Winding dragon has +10 tranquility (stacks with the +10 tran from our avoidance buff), minus atk (boooo) and + dps modifier 4% (doesnt stack with quiet purity, 9% i think at adept 3) If your looking to dps, neither will help you, losing crushing skill means lowering ur atk and thus less a chance to hit raid mobs. And because spider stance does nothing to benifit u other then defense, ur better off using tranquil blessing on a scout who is likely to peel a mob. <div></div>

I ment useless in refrence to the dps it adds as i thought that was what this thread was concerned with, for tanking it owns :-p <div></div>

<DIV>True, but as far as the haste part of the spell goes..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You have Everburning Flame/Fire. What monk never keeps that buff up?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I admit I would like the hastes to stack, but I don't mind.</DIV>

If I am not tanking then it is almost definitely up. Sure, sometimes I pull aggro off the tank, but if I start taking too much damage I can click it off and if the tank really can't regain aggro and I'm losing to much Health I can always Feign Death.</P> <P>Even when I solo (which is about half the time) I will use it most of the time. The exceptions would be when I am 'passing through' an area and not fighting or when I am fighting things that I know will do a lot of damage.. Yes, I do end up with less Health at the end of the fight than I would usually have if I didn't have Everburning Fire on but I have more power, and since I would have to wait to regen the power anyway that doesn't become an issue.<BR></P>

Since the changes to Everburning Fire/Flame (30sec dmg tick), I keep it up all the time. Tanking or DPS, it doesn't matter. Even natural regen (ie no food) is faster than the EF dmg tick, so there's basically no reason to EVER take it off. Even for raiding, no reason to take it off. Buffed for raiding (not tanking of course <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />) you're easily over 6k hp, most of the time more than that. A 192pt dmg tick every 30 secs is meaningless. Nefalu 50th Monk AB <div></div>

He asked who <STRONG>never</STRONG> keeps it up, not who <STRONG>ever</STRONG> does <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think almost everyone keeps everburning up all the time.</DIV>

I use Winding Dragon sometimes, because it makes my CAs hit harder, and SS does absolutely 100% nothing for attacking.

Yes, defense goes down, but if you want more damage, use the one that gives a damage bonus.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I dunno.. I basically never use the Everburning line.. I don't even have it on a hotbar anymore. Since I spend 95% of my time solo (because of choppy play times for the most part) Anything that drains any health/power is almost never used. So I use SS instead *shrug* With FBSS and ring its fast enough for me. <div></div>
