I am currently level 24 (almost 25) and so far the only combat ability that is kinda interesting is the Jumping Back Kick they do with Swooping Dragon and such. I saw that Berserkers also have an attack they do that has the exact same animation (a bit of a let down there).

Do the animations of the kicks/attacks/whatever get any better?

The Rapid Swings animation is pretty neat, but so far the kicks have all been the same. The Kata ability we get at 20 shows off a Jumping Heel Kick animation that is pretty neat, but haven’t seen it in any of the fighting abilities.

If they do get better… any pics or broad description of what they look like? I am loving my Monk, but I’m hoping to get a little more pop in the eye candy department.

I do agree that it looks way better to fight w/ Fist type weapons. I was just curious about the Combat abilities... like Thrust Kick, Swooping Dragon, etc...

You get a really awesome one later that I've only seen when using the skill Pouncing Tiger while wielding fist weapons.

I agree that when I got the pouncing tiger animation it was a nice change, kool to spin around and punch like that with fists. Maybe I am a goober when it comes to all of this, but looks deal heavily into what armor I try to wear (i.e. full sets) although not as much as stats, and it would be nice to get more fighting animations to be able to throw in while in combat. I'm level 32 now, in the ugly Mist Hide stuff, so I am looking forward to getting 35, so I can wear my set of Emerald hide. In EQ2, it's no longer good enough to be uber, gotta look gud too =) Wundan Wushu

Never been a fan of the pouncing tiger fist weapon animation. Its too triple axle for my taste.

I just switched to a new 2h staff. My old one wasn't monk animation enabled where my new one is, The new staff animations are pretty cool.

One problem is knowing which staffs will give the cool animations (I never used makotos when i was in low 20's)

Thank you everyone for all the info! I will be switching to either a 2her or DW fists. I'm currently using a Splitpaw Staff of Snarling and Steel Mace. I'm kinda bored w/ the animations. Its GREAT to know that info about the 2hers and I will avoid Great Staves at all costs .

Thank you again! This I'm sure will revive my love for my Monk.
