<DIV>Finally hit Tier 5, and blew nearly my entire wad on Augmented armor, but I still have to get some weapon upgrades as soon as a little more money comes in.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So I'm trying to decide on Augmented Fist wraps or Cedar Cudgels.  The cudgels definitely win on stats, as I want (need?) all the agility I can get.  On the down side, they'll almost certainly cost a ton more to get, but I don't mind saving up.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I PREFER the fighting-style of the fist wraps, but I want to be a good tank too.  What I really want to know at this point is what the cudgels look like.  Are they the huge, unwieldy baseball bat model?  If they are, I may have to sacrifice stats for style and go with the fist wraps <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<div></div>They are indeed huge baseball bat like graphics, but they are more ornate looking than the typical ones. I used mine for quite a while, and I actually got more compliments than complaints. They'll serve you well. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Grabaan on <span class=date_text>06-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:26 PM</span>

Well, I do have quite a few screenshots of them, but I'm at work <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I'll be sure to add some of them to my eq2players profile and direct you to them from this thread when I get home. <div></div>

<P>I used those cudgels a long time.  Sadly, I only have one pic of them... </P> <P>Edit:<A href="http://www.legacyofunrest.com/pics/EQ2_000092.jpg" target=_blank></A> <P>On second thought, that picture stinks.  I'll take a better one tonight for you, unless someone beats me to it.  </P><p>Message Edited by stfields on <span class=date_text>06-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:13 AM</span>

I keep a set of imbued cedar cudgels around for use on slash-resistant raid mobs, don't have a pic handy but to give you an idea...I generally refer to them as my Spiked Champagne Mangums of Doom. <div></div>

<P>I generally prefer looks over stats.   Best thing to do is go to broke, search for Cudgel, then buy the cheapest one that doesn't con red (50s or less usually).   Equip the cudgel to see what you will look like wearing one.   </P> <P>I personally prefer the looks of Cudgels, but many like the Cedar Batons or the fistwraps.</P>

<P>For a fellow monk, any request is doable, even if I have to enlist the services of a certain guardian friend of mine.</P> <P><IMG src="http://img156.echo.cx/img156/5622/noahcudgels4gf.jpg"></P> <P>There you have it, pristine imbued cedar cudgels.</P> <P>The animations are like any other dual wielded mace or cudgel I believe, but that you'll have to find out for yourself <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

<DIV>Ah, thank you sirrah!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ok those do look a LOT better than the cudgels I had in my younger days.  And yet on the other hand, they still look a lot like ornately-crafted juggling pins.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This will be a toughie...gotta think about it for a while.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks again! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>semi off topic here..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>someone should parse out the damage-taken difference of tanking w/ a cedar bo and tanking w/ 2x cedar cudgels.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the bo will give less ripostes but the cudgels give you like 20 extra agility, which i doubt makes up for the ripostes.. but?  i dont got the funds to buy each....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>back on topic..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>anyone else find the cudgels ugly?  they remind me of the Flinstones and the words bam-bam come to mind..</DIV>

They are basiclly katars with a cresent blade handguard (points forward). The damage on them is identical I believe to the cudgels, after relative speeds are taken into account, but since the Cestii are the slower weapon I <U>believe</U> that they can gain more benefit from haste effects (with both weapons ending at the same speed since the cudgel caps out sooner) resulting in them being more damaging. <P>Stats for the two are comprable. Cudgels are +13 Agility and +7 Strength while Cestii and +10 and +10, so both give a 20 point bonus. Cudgels give +36 Health and +32 Mana while Cestii give the opposite, +32 Health and +36 Mana. Personally I prefer having the extra mana and strength, but your mileage may vary. <P>Overall I like their look (especially over the cudgel) and they use the 'monk' stance instead of dual-wield. Minor funkiness because the hands remain open, but overall quite acceptable I think.</P></DIV>

<P>Cugels tend to look really bad when not in battle.  Like two bowling pins on your sides.</P> <P> </P> <P>Definitely avoid if you care about looks.</P>

<DIV>My current weapons are similar to those cudgels (not stat wise, but appearance).  The fighting animations are SO BORING!  I've been using my weapons since around level 18 or 19 and I am currently 24.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The stats are awesome so I'm hard pressed to give them up (not a very big market of other options on Befallen for some reason).  <U>I'm itching for the day I out level my weapons</U> and can get something that's going to give me more monk like moves.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you care much for watching your guy fight... then I guess you can go cudgel, but like someone said earlier... the Cestii are pretty similar and you still get to have those nifty monk moves.  Take it from me... those other fighting animations get DULL AS HELL!</DIV>
