<DIV>Anyone else having the problem where, when you use this taunt, it pops a resist message over your head.. pretty much meaning you resist the supposed 5% DPS increase that is supposed to come along with the taunt?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have never seen the increase, like the older AoE taunt that put up an icon in your buff bar, this one does now, and always gets resisted..</DIV>

<DIV>Im so tired of alot of our spells it makes me sick. I have upgraded Wintery Talon, Silent Fist, Everburning Fire, Spider Stance(before i knew they didnt stack), Quiet Purity, and Infuriating Calm. Sofar none of them have been worth the upgrade. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sorry this is off topic but I about upgraded this one just so I can taunt raid mobs better but decided against it due to how little Infuriating Calm did. Was like 20-26 hate!!!! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway sorry I have noticed what your saying though. I guess im a just used to it now and dont pay attention anymore )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
<P>Yeah i dont even use it after upgrading it to adept 3. Lu Suns has 20secs recast and dont get that resist message. Its a real shame that 75% of our skills another class has the same or better our role on raids is FD and res. Monks should just be made a DPS class already. We cant tank raids were not even close to decent back up tanks on raids we have no purpose other than Fd Res.</P> <P>We solo great but after you hit 50 and its raiding 99% of the time were useless. </P>

Maybe it's a time to start a little PM message campaign with Moorgard and crew...it's now getting rediculous that the game is this far along and the foundation of our characters are so out of whack.

Not even close to useless. Silent fist is the only thing that stifles raid mobs any more. Add in our interrupts in the down time and BAM!. We got a niche. Our guild has two monks and wants two more, they notice huge differences when Monks not on raid. <div></div>

<DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV>they notice huge differences when Monks not on raid</DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm just curious if other monks have noticed that in raid situations when we are delegated to dealing damage, that our dps is pretty impressive. I started up my parser (which for a while I figured was broken)... and when I'm in the "dps group" I'm holding my own against swashies, brigands, etc. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><BR></DIV>

<DIV>I agree silent fist is a great spell, I have adept3 in it. As to your comment about your guild looking for more monk I sure hope it has nothing to do with that spell. That is one of the great ones that once cast by one monk can not be cast by another until some imaginary timer runs out. Drives me frickin crazy when we raid that I cant use one of my main damage skills, and 3 others are on a timer with how ever many monks are in the raid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

The important ability on this spell is the stifle, not the trifling damage that it does. If you can't land the spell while another Monk has it stifled, then you can just spam it until it works so that you maximize the amount of time the mob is stifled. Instead of having to coordinate a stifle rotation the game does it for you.</span><div></div>

Chime! I beleive you are getting the resist msg simply because the +dps mod doesnt stack with winding dragon or quiet purity, try without them on. Personaly i upgraded it to app 4, and thats about all ill ever need, no raid requires a monk to tank anything harder then a blue or white ++ , and thats only if a berk or guardian arent on hand to spare. <div></div>

It's amazing how we have some really well thought out abilities, but in the end they don't even matter.. Spider Stance is pretty much just 15 Defense, the haste doesn't stack with Everburing Fire so it's almost pointless to use on raids.. but then Winding Dragon subtracts from Crush/Slash/Pierce, which makes it less of an offensive buff at times than Spider Stance. Also with quiet purity, there are so many other players in a raid that have better buffs than this rendering it useless except for the Mental mitigation which, is rarely to never used at all. Another one is Transcendent VIsion.. I have the master of this and it only adds 46% avoidence on target, 10 Tranquility and 4 Deflection to the Monk... Compare this to Shrug Off (Master I) which is the bruiser buff of the same line.. which adds 52% avoidence, adds some mitigation, and gives the bruiser MANY more benefits than TV gives the Monk. Lastly, for now, our Heal spell has a 5 minute recast on it while a bruiser's heal has a 90 second timer.. granted the bruiser heal is self only, but at AdeptIII the bruiser heal heals for 43% max hp, while the monks MasterI Heal only heals for 33%.. When PVP and all that jazz come out, this alone is a SERIOUS disadvantage to monks. Anyway, I have a lot more gripes about our abilities.. mainly the non-stackability of Spider Stance and Everburning Fire, and our Heal. Feel free to agree or disagree with me, but honestly, we are a great class, but we do need A LOT of work.</span><div></div>

I'm just curious... what "exactly" does increasing our Tranquility skill do? Using a buff like TV increases our Tranquility by 10... so? Do our combat arts do more damage? Miss less often?
<P>Now you see why "Moorgard" made a bruiser when the game went live. Oh yeh we can stun a raid mob we have a purpose /golfclap </P> <P>The monk class needs alot of work. </P>
but guys, your forgetting.. we have feign death!!! this offsets any imbalances.

Raising our tranquility by 10, and 20 if you use WInding Dragon, supposedly increases our base skill damage.. Take a skill like SIlent Fist, where it does 384-640 damage, with a max skill level of 300. When we buff our tranquility by 20 it puts us at 270 Tranquility, in-turn making us 4 levels higher, and supposedly the DPS on the spell would hit closer to the high end than the lower end. Now, I've noticed abilities hit for max without either buff on in certian groups, so I don't really know if buffing tranquility is doing much at this time.. Also if you've ever noticed with TV and Winding Dragon on.. Quiet Purity is grayed out, and other abilities turn green/blue/white/yellow, based on their max skill level. More or less, +20 Tranquility lets us master our spells faster, therefore making them mroe effective. <div></div>
