I'm glad I wasn't the only one to catch this. For some time the Devs have been saying that the dps order is Mage > Scout > Fighter > Priest but with this new statment they are saying the opposite. It maybe true in a general sense but not as blunt as what they were saying. Classes are too different to make broad statments as the one. I always new dps would overlap because because of the complexity of the classes. I never believed that general statment of the dps order the devs gave us. I can't believe that a Brawler would not out dps a Bard or an Assassin out dps an Illusionist. It just wouldn't make sense.

Because bards and enchanters offer buffs to the group which are either exclusive or significantly up the DPS of group members; so they are taking those things into account as they continue to balance the classes and spells.

But remember Moorgard also said that a class' offense is based on it's defense; and we will have more defense than anyone not in the fighter tree.

Message Edited by Gage-Mikel on 06-02-2005 10:50 AM

theres a difference betwen DPS and relative DPS..

a debuffer who does "100 dps" is also negating say 50 dps of the mob.. so you could say hes doing 150 relative dps. same with fighter.. he might do 100 dps, but he absorbs 50% of the mobs damage aka reducing the mobs damage by 50%.. a healer might do 10 dps but he negates almost 100% of the mobs damage by healing it (say mob does 150 dps) so the healer is doing 160 relative dps. sorry if this doesnt make much sense.. im too tired to type a nice n pretty paragraph and i totally forgot where i was going with this post so.. the end.
