I have a new frog, decided their abilities leads in the Brawler direction. I have read quite a few Brawler, Bruiser & Monk threads but can't quite get the essence of the characters.

So:

1 What's the key difference between Bruiser & Monk?

2 Which would suit the froglok & why?

3 Or should I go for a Pally to get "frog on horse" laughs (sorry joke)

Thanks.

Message Edited by DecisiveForce on 06-01-2005 02:36 PM

1. key differences.. bruisers are a bit more offensive oriented, they recieve 'fear' and there heal is self only on a shorter timer for more HP. they also tend to be more 'Fist' oriented vs staff/hammer. monks get invis and the heal works on group members.

2. suit a froglok... meh. brawler+froglok isnt my style so i dont know.

3. see #2

Message Edited by woode on 06-01-2005 09:47 AM
Monk.Monks have a 40% (@ad3) self haste buff, we can still mend others when needed, we have a good invis up till like lvl40.Monks have a 15def/15defl self buff, with 13% haste, but atm the haste dosen't stack with our other haste buff =(Monks looks better in their lvl20 AQ's! Bruisers get poop colored armor.lvl20 subclass reward staff is one of the better weapons for it's level, dunno about Bruisers tho.DPS wise...id say Bruisers/Monks are about the same, and Bruisers being more 'offensive' oriented dosen't seem to hold up, since we still have equal damage, and most Bruiser skills are just Monk skills with different names. Except Fear. We don't get it, but not like I would want it ether....Nerf Rangers tho! j/kOnly downside is that most of our skills require you to be inside some mob's nuts to be able to use them.Staff/Fist orientation has nothing to do with the classes. We have the same skills in that area, so a monk with a staff is no better than a bruiser with a staff and vice versa with fists.-Tensholvl49 MonkNajena

DecisiveForce wrote:

What's the key difference between Bruiser & Monk?

The city you live in. Bruiser fun spells are outright insulting.

Which would suit the froglok & why?

Seeing they are religious people and hate several Freeport races, Monk would be the easy RP choice. With a little imagination you certainly can come up with a background for a Bruiser as well though.

Or should I go for a Pally to get "frog on horse" laughs (sorry joke)

*bonk*
