Hi guys, getting real close to 40 now, recently I've aquired all the stuff to have a pair of pristine imbued Cedar batons made, are these good weapons? if not what should I look for?

Thanks for any advice you have

Those are nice, or you could use the same thing and get cudgles. More agility.

go 2 hander -kerq

I would use the Crook or if dual wielding, pristine imbued ebon cestiis. They are the slowest duel wields and outperform the batons. Also, at level 40, most of the fabled weps are available to use: Royal Great Flail, wanderers wraps, crystal baton of flight, prismatic baton, flower 1/4 staff, etc.

-Jenjer

I, personally, would get two Cedar Cudgels, but thats just personal preference. Thats partially because I really like the look, and partially because I can't afford Ebon Clusters

I use the cudgels and I'm happy with them. I'm currently trying to get another cedar to get a 2handed imbuded bo made, then I'll go after a pair of imbuded cestii. The guild I'm in doesn't do a LOT of raiding, it does some though, so while raid drops MAY be a possibility I tend to concentrate on rare playermade gear. And since I'm usually broke, I also tend to concentrate on harvesting.

I have 2 cedar cudgels myself. I switch between those and the crook. When fighting a group of mobs, I like to use the crook (no one can deny that earthquake on 4+ mobs isn't sweet).

However, cudgels and crook are both crushing, so I want either piercing/slashing in case a mob is immune. Now, my weaponsmith just hit 49, so he can make the handwraps, knuckles or cesti.

For those with the knowledge, can I get a rundown on which skill those 3 weapon types have?

For anyone that has the cesti, are those the ones with the sharp blade things sticking out?

i dual wield t5 rare fistwrap and cestus. i have some crushing and some piercing damage with this combo. plus it gives the 'i know kung fu' martial arts fighting look. i like watching myself fight alot more now then when i had sticks and clubs. but like people said in this thread any combo of t5 rare , or a 2hander will do the job just fine

I use Mudslingers Arm for 2h.

For dual wield, I have a mixed combo so far. 2 imbued cestus (1 non-attuned), imbued cedar quarterstaff, and I still use the Tonfa of Bladewarding.... typically a mix of all that, depending... lol

What else other than pelts do I need to get to make pristine imbued augmented cestiis? I would like to start trying to gather them now before I hit 40.

My poor weaponsmith is only level 10, so you can't see what the proc is.
The problem is that with the imbueing patch they messed up the cestii, and they end up having the cestus stats after they've been imbued as you found out.

To the OP:

To make an imbued augmented leather cestii you'll need:

Two t5 rare pelts: augmented belt, augmented apron, superb quality "named" pelt will all work. They will have a legendary tag on the examine screen.

Two luminous items: Can be a flower, stone, tooth, etc.

You'll need an alchemist to turn your luminous items into pristine luminous extract (or you can buy it off the broker already made; this is what I do).

You'll need a tailor (or a WS with the appropriate scrolls) to turn your t5 rare pelts into a pristine augmented strap.

Then you'll need to give the two straps and the two luminous extracts to a lvl 49 or higher WS to have them turned into the imbued leather cestii.

Since yours will be imbued, they'll have the 10/10 stats unless they get fixed.

Being that you aleady have the 2 cedars and dual wield is a must for you cudgels are pretty sweet with 13 agil and 7 str , but if you are a monk on a budget and need a damage type variety i would go one cedar imbued bo staff and then sell/trade the remaining cedar(or just hold onto it for future dual wields) for a pelt and try a get another one and grab set of slashers so you got the 2 major damage types covered and at a relative low cost .. the crook is not overly great imo esp if you group with crowd control types not to mention that the animations on great staffs and the like are flat out lame (also as a note if you start raiding or already are pelts and cedar drop quite a bit so obtaining a few pelts should come prety quick as long as you are not in a guild with alot of light armor users)

Rolangard

toxxulia

I've been using these cestii now for a few days, and my slashing skill hasn't budged. It's stuck at 161/235. I'm fighting everything from grey to red mobs and I'm not getting a single skillup. However, it does seem that I'm landing my hits just as often as my cudgels (capped crushing). You think its a bug?

Actually, I beleive they changed all of these weapons to use the crushing skill. They do slashing/peircing damage, but they are all based on the crushing skill.

All of our to-hit rolls are checked against our crushing skill, despite the weapon type of the armor.
