<DIV>sooooo</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My wife (fury) and I got the oppertunity to go through the floor today and see the sights... the biggest thing I've noticed about E3 compared to the one I went to in 98 was that this is more of a "OMG LOOK AT ME" show then an actual tradeshow <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> The booths are huge, the displays are huge, and the lines to see any of the new consoles are huge. Speaking of consoles, that's a pretty large theme of this years e3. With the 360, PS3 and whatever Nintendo's releasing are drawing huge crowds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I got a chance to go by the SOE booth, and I was exteremly surprised to see a very large castle like structure with a number of TV monitors on the front showing a loop video of a number of their games (EQ, EQ2, SWG etc). There was a door to a lounge type area in side and folks pretty much weren't allowed in.. /shrug Most of the other MMPORG booths had folks you could talk to right next to their games. We got a chance to chat with folks from NCSoft and Mythic. (Imperitor looks pretty neat) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The video for the expansion looks pretty cool. The zones are much much more colorful it seems. I was told the video will be out later this week on the website so look for it to download. I also got the oppertunity to see a small mini demo of EQ2 expansion over in the NVIDIA booth. They were showing off climbing. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One very cool thing about the video is that one of the lead characters of the video is a monk... and they have some new textured armor including a very very cool asian themed helm (think wide rice field worker type hat)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Chatted with a few of the dev's and they said they are busy testing / tuning the PVP aspect of the game right now, but they all said the PVP is a hoot to play.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'll keep this post short.. E3 is overwhelming to put it mildly.. just getting to the convention center was crazy, and we are fortunate enough to have someone who lives in LA that we are staying with driving.</DIV>

<P>Looks like flying carpets might actually fly too, instead of just hover.</P> <P><A href="http://media.pc.gamespy.com/media/746/746598/img_2800168.html" target=http://media.pc.gamespy.com/media/746/746598/img_2800168.html><FONT size=2>http://media.pc.gamespy.com/media/746/746598/img_2800168.html</FONT></A><BR></P>

I believe that's NPCs in the background and/or a carpet ride from the docks to the city, a la a griffon.

<DIV>Ah that's a good point...when his trick was over it looked like someone had dropped a huge bowl of salad. Contain the trick, and you have yourself a great side dish for a cookout.</DIV>
