I have IT Adept 1 yet I never hit the target for more than 368. I should be doing about 150 more than that. I test this on all manner of monsters. especially newbie monsters who have low AC. Anyone else experience this?

What does the spell con to you?

If its White, Yellow or Orange it hasn't reached it full potential. You probably won't get a max hit until its green or grey con.

So far as I can tell, every skill works that way. What we always see is raw damage, but since every mob (even really low cons) have SOME mitigation, we'll never do the full damage displayed when examining an ability.

I just got the skill so it's still orange, but even for all my weaker attacks, they hit for full damage most of the time without fail when they were Orange.

I dunno I haven't monitored it SUPER closely, but it seems like even my normal crushing special attacks never really reach their max.

Of course, Icy Talon isn't a crushing attack, either. Its damage can be mitigated by cold resist. Maybe such attacks take into account both melee mitigation AND cold resist, and that makes them underperform?

Thats no explanation for them doing nearly 400 damage (which is more than I usually do on normal monsters) on Everfrost monsters though.

I think my max with this is 586, with a adept 3, at lvl 45.

As far as I can tell the amount of damage you do is dependant upon your strength. I have noticed when I solo and am going on my 160 or so str that I normally hit around 350-400. But, when we raid and my str gets buffed up that spell will hit for over 600. Also my hits with weapons average goes up as well. Normally with Prismatic and Staff of flowers I average around 50-60 a hit. In raids it goes to around 80-90 with lots of hits over 110.

I have been trying to get my sta up lately thinking it would matter, but its looking like higher str would benifit more than sta with the role of a monk. Incase of coarse you get the rare role of tank, then just keep some stamina gear with ya, i.e hex dolls and such and its all good.

Of course, the highest I would see against blue ^^ mobs was less... about 410... but up to 490 after the mob was debuffed.

However, and this certainly jives with Almeric's post, when I fight a defiler/mystic mob and they ward themselves, guess what? Consistently I hit for 600-616. Why? Wards have no mitigation. So, I hit their ward for max damage

I haev had Icy Talon hit for over 800+ at adept-3 and 400 str. As far as the effective damage, its based on:

Strength: every 100-points will give 10% impovement in spell damage

Mob Mitigation: Typically mob will mitgate 30-40% of the rated damage. (whats seen in the dscription). Also Icy Talon is crush damage so it would be based on crush mitigation.

Con color: White arts are more effetive then yellow or orange

Level Difference: Lowered leveled mobs will have less mitigation

-Jenjer

It sorta sounds like you're implying that a mob will mitigate a higher percentage of the base damage of an orange skill. I don't know about that one.

What I mean is that your art wont do maximum rated damage until it becomes white conned. Now, I dont know this excatly, but I am also thinking that orange rated arts will be resisted more... There is an alleged benefit of having higher tranquility for yellow con arts or better. Since its not since in the rated damage, I am guessing either the resist rate or ability to reach max damage somehow improves.

-Jenjer
