<DIV>Up to this point, I have been wearing the Blood Drenched Gi (11str, +90vs most saves and 30vs melee dmg) as well as LureClaws pants (10agi, 4sta, +90 vs slash/pierce).</DIV> <DIV>My question is when should I upgrade from them?  At lvl 40, there are the nice imbued augmented armor, as well as some other items of worth (some fabled items that I cant think of atm).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for any input.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I've covered this question in the FAQ - please let me know if you'd like additional elaboration.  I can flesh out that section if it needs more detail.</DIV>

I have never had a Blooddrenched GI but I went full augmented at 40 and have been very pleased so far. <div></div>

<BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> <STRONG>What armor should I look for at 40-50?</STRONG> <P>Thicket woven armor will treat you well for a few levels. After that, consider wearing pristine crafted armor or a mishmash of drops until you can buy or harvest enough Superb pels and Augmented items to make a set of Augmented leather, the 40-50 rare crafted armor.</P> <DIV> </DIV><BR> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE><BR> <DIV>This does not really explain if the stats on that augmented armor outshine the +vs dmg armor. I do not know how the +vs armor equates to mitigation, which is why I am asking. Especially now, since we have to attune something, I dont want to waste my money only to find out that either something isnt upgraded at all, or there is minimal upgrade for the cost.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am hoping someone who has/had the BD Gi and Lureclaws legs can explain what they upgraded to and if they noticed a difference between the armor.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or if someone can equate the +vs numbers to raw mitigation.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

The beauty of the Thicket Woven armor is it's very cheap and has a good resale to vendors once you're done with it.  With the average selling price around 2gp 30sp (ish) that's a good 14gp back in my pocket for something i didn't spend a dime on.  In about 8 hours of soloing Lamias I had a full set of armor + about 80 gp and 2 levels in my pocket.  The downside of the armor is no +power (which has never been a problem) and the resists other than +mental and +magic suck.  Good armor when fighting Enchanter mobs <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Unfortunately the armor doesn't last that long level wise, but figure it will get me by til i come across good upgrades.

<DIV>I wouldn't think the lack of +power would matter with all the extra STR points it gives you.  Should be oodles of power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm about 7% away from 38, and then I'm going to study the pros and cons of Emerald Hide vs. Thicket Woven.  I suspect Thicket Woven will come out on top with a juicy avoidance percentage, AND it's good until at least 42, which means I have extra time to save up for Augmented gear.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Looks to me like the Thicket is better for DPS and the Augmented is better for tanking. <div></div>

Free to maybe 10gp for a full set of Thicket versus a couple platinum for a full set of augmented.  Cost/availability wise it would be more realistic to compare the Thicket to standard T5 crafted (Strengthened Leather??? Forget what it's called atm).  I haven't looked at the stats but I'm sure they are significantly lower than the Augmented.  As mentioned in the Monk faq I'm following the Thicket armor at 38 and replace as you go route.</DIV>
