<DIV>Hey im  a Lvl 42 Monk on Oggok server. while i love this class cause of its skills i have a few gripes</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- With my guild ive now come accross two nameds that i "CANNOT" hit. Agony and one in CT (glare lord named - floating eye thing)<BR>  i had pristine imbued fistwraps so we figured the named must be immiune to crushing damage, so i spent 25g on other weapons so that i could trial </DIV> <DIV>  the thory.. basically im a tank class and i coudlnt hit him at all not with crushing, not with piercing, not with slashing damage. </DIV> <DIV>     </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Has anyone else had this problem </DIV>

<DIV>While I have no experience fighting those particular named mobs... if you are saying that the mob is immune to crushing, piercing and slashing... are other members in your group landing hits?  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If they are, then it "might" have something to do with the level of your weapons.  Either your skill or the weapon's skill has to be within a certain percentage of the mobs level for any hits to land.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Examples:</DIV> <DIV>Let's say your crushing skill is capped for 42 @ 210.  The mob is immune to all crushing attacks... so you can't hit it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You equip something that uses piercing skill, also @ 210.  However, the weapon "level" is X% lower than the mob's level.  You can't hit the mob.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You equip something that uses slashing skill, but its not leveled, so its only @ 150.  You can't hit the mob because your skill is too low.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think someone more experience with fighting mobs that are immune to certain attacks would be able to verify which of those examples fits your problem.</DIV>

<DIV>There are some cases where mobs are immune to non-magic weapons, ie Tundra Hikers Staff will not hit Varsoon but Ice Dusted Quarterstaff will (both crushing skill). For the test was you sure to check that the weapons you bought were treasured or better, and the weapon was in range of the mobs level? I know they also made it so if the mob is higher than your weapon con by a certain amount you will not be able to hit it. Just some things to check, I can't speak as to actually what works on the mob as I haven't had a chance to fight it yet, but I also know for a while there some cestii were doing piercing dmg instead of slash so it could also be immune to everything except slash? I noticed just recently this was fixed at least on my cestii so maybe try the mob again and see.</DIV>

Are your fistwraps made from rare components (superior qual pelts)?   Some boss mobs cannot be hit by normal crafted weapons, you will need the rare version,  or quest weapons.  Or use the Crook, it should hit almost everything. <div></div>

<DIV>I'll tell you right now what it is.  Glare lord in CT is 51 or 52 I can't remember, but I have never been able to hit something 9-10 levels above me.</DIV>

<DIV>ok To clarify im going to repost i had a few more issues but for some reason my net just cerasehd for a few hours. stragne that the first part sent.. oh well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As i was saying. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>for the fistwraps they are indeed normal imbued not rare imbued. but they are the best weapons i have and i really cant afford to make other ones <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.</DIV> <DIV>i was the ONLY one in group having problems.. and the strange part was that not only where my weapons not damaging it.. but NONE of my kicks. or punches were damaging either... i was lvl 40 at the time. and the lvl 37 guardian in the gorup was hitting him fine.. so that post about quest item or rare item migth be it.. but i think thats a load of bullocks. imbued pristine items are useless if they dont hit the mob.. as well as ... why woudl my weapons affect what damage my kicks do?. bsacially im now useless to my guild (for named mobs) until i save up enough for new weponas. that actually hit. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>a few other shtings id like comments on</DIV> <DIV>- Armor choice for monk seems rare. - as far as i know widsom on light armor is not that useful to a monk. so it annoyes me a lil.. woven thicket armor is awesome at lvls 39-42</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- how do you feel about the hertiage quest items. that are acutally useful to us.. would really love some dual wiled hertiage items feel left out in the cold there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- some wierd skills. i just got a new skill - stop heart.. at lvl 42. descrtion reads 0%to feign death to lvl 38 and above mobs.. is this typo error or is the skill in effect useless?<BR>- healing.. seems useless now. if i ever get to the point where i need to use the heal ill be running already. </DIV> <DIV>- avoidance --- is this working? as soon as i hit any double up mobs i get [Removed for Content]. ive got my agility at 150 during solo. so i feel a lil. miffed. </DIV> <DIV>- invis.. stops at lvl 34? its pointless to use in ct for example. `? is this bug or?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I LOVE the monk class. i just wanna see if there are inconsistancies but this immune thing i stated first is my biggest gripe i spent 40g on those fistwraps and they are useless?. BAH.!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- btw.. is it normal for me to only get 0.1% xp from a mob 4 levels above me?... or even 3 levels? cause i get 3x that from blue mobs. ive been testing different areas for the last 3 days. </DIV>

<P>I had this exact same problem, and spent quite some time bashing myself against a wall trying to figure out what was going on. Basically, I wasn't able to hit any high end named mob - the Ancient Slayer, Varsoon, any of the FBSS marks, and so on. I had tried my imbued cestii, imbued cestus, and two of those tundra hiker staves - none worked. </P> <P>To solve the problem, just get a pair of backup weapons that are Treasured. I picked up a thulian claw and another staff that were treasured, and i switch to them when fighting a named mob.</P> <P>To be clear, just a crafted weapon with a rare T5 pelt in it will *not* solve this problem...those items qualify as 'handcrafted', not 'treasured'.</P> <P>Needless to say, I was awful happy when I figured this out.</P> <P>Mane Attaction, Guk</P> <P>PS ~ Hi Girth, I see you cooking next to me all the time <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P> </P>

rare T5 crafted weapons are not "Handcrafted"They are "Legendary". They should work just as fine as any "treasured", even better.T5 common crafted are "Handcrafted" and perhaps can't hit certain mobs. I don't know for sure though, never tried it.

I know for certain that common handcraft weapons (any type of damage) do not hit Varsoon, and skills won't work either.  Imbued rare crafted weapons (crush) will hit Varsoon and skills work too.  Some quest weapons will hit Varsoon, but skills won't work.   It seems like there are 3 tiers of weapons: Lowest: No normal hits, No skills Middle: Yes normal hits, No skills Highest: Yes normal hits, Yes skills <div></div>

<DIV>Hey Mane, I see you all the time too.  I have a pair of t5 rare imbued cestii's and I have not had a problem hitting anything.  If I do I guess I will switch to Heiro Crook or if I get 2 cedars i'll make some cudgels.</DIV>

<div></div>Whenever I come upon a mob immune to my fist wraps I usually switch to staff of the treefolke. In all cases I could then hit them just fine, despite the notion that they would be immune to all forms of crushing damage. This has even been the case above and beyond with certain other mobs. The solo Lamia thingy that spawns just before you fight varsoon was being beat into oblivion by the staff of the treefolk. Yet my group members ghoulsbane wasn't doing more than 20 damage or so a hit on her<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> They were pretty annoyed to see me hitting for 100+ consistantly. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Khudson on <span class=date_text>04-27-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:49 PM</span>
