One of the notes on the new combat system being developed on Test has piqued my curiosity. Can anyone find a Deflection buff that isn't a self-buff? Has anyone seen (be hard to spot, actually) a mob debuff Deflection? They're capping Deflection buffs ... but to my knowledge there aren't any, save for self-buffs! It would be kind of silly to put a cap on a skill that there are no stackable buffs for.

It is a very good question to which we should really try to get answered. If there are no classes who buff deflection, will our self-buffs in turn be affected? Not that it matters anyway since most of our buffs are kinda weak to start.

Well, I just did a scan of the EQ2Players Classes lists and I found no Deflection buffs. Granted that site isn't 100% accurate but it's a good first reference. The only place where Deflection is mentioned is in the Ranger CAs. They have a line of CAs, the Wounding Arrow line, which actually debuffs Deflection. Of course, this sucks for them, because few if any mobs have Deflection - but that's another topic. So any Ranger-equivalent mobs could debuff Brawler deflection, but there are apparently no buffs for it except for self-buffs. This really needed a cap? Is it even a cap that Monks or Bruisers will ever hit?I suppose that the CA/Spell revamp that is up-and-coming to mesh with the Combat changes might include modifications to other classes' buffs that will change some of them to Deflection buffs. It would surprise me, though, as that would mark those sub-classes as "Brawler-friendly, other Fighter-class unfriendly," or so I would think.

Well, if no classes, aside monks can buff deflection, what this is now telling me, the early incarnation of the deflection is still around in some form.

The only other possibility is that since monks have self-only buffs, they are going to change the buffs to stack, but cap at say +25? I don't know...but I think we should stay on top of this.
