Which is more important in a Monk? Obviously you need some strength to deal out damage and for power, but i always thought the main point of having a monk is to dodge most of the attacks thrown at you? So which one is more important?

That's probably something near everybody is going to have a different opinion on. Basically 10 agi = 0.6% avoidance under the current system and I am unsure exactly how much it affects accuracy, would be nice if somebody knows how to determine that. 10 str = 39 power and also +4 attk, 10 sta was around 90 hps. If you can aim for at least 100 str unbuffed/solo just for the extra power and 25% dmg bonus. The rest of the stats balance out to your own liking.

im trying to keep a 1:2:1.5 ratio of str:agi:sta

I'd go with whichever you're more deficient in, if possible. And the weapon from the monk quest is a bo.

i take agility whenever possible, with stamina being second, and strength being third.

but thats just me.. to each his own, afterall we cant all be running around w/ same race n class n gear n everything

Right now my stats at 35 are str/agi/sta 82/106/66. I'm marginally comfortable with that, but I'm constantly looking for ways to raise my sta now. Some ppl like to keep all stats balanced. I'm not sure sta is really worth as much as the other 2. Having less str and agi just to raise my sta more would hurt rather than help i think.

when looking at items I add the three stats up on the item and look for the highest overall totals.

so for example I would rate a 2str/2agi/6sta (2+2+6=10) higher than a 3str/3agi/3sta item (3+3+3=9).

at 37 I am running with base stats of:

92 STR

113 AGI

88 STA

I go AGI--->STR--->STA BUT, I will never sacrifice an item that takes one stat under 100 to raise another. At 48th with self-buffs I'm at: STR: 119 AGI: 143 STA: 109 My next goal is AGI over 150, other 2 over 125. MAN do I need money!

I've found that as I've balanced AGI/STR/STA I've become more effective at soloing/tanking as the levels move on.At 45 I'm running -Strength 122 Agility 125 Stamina 92 Based on this setup. With my Spiderwalk Sandals on I hit (approximately) 122/132/103

My 2 cp:

I have tried to work toward a ratio of 1:1:0.75 -- STR:AGI:STA. (Right now, I'm a little unbalanced in favor of STR, as I am wearing the full set of Enchanted Thicket armor.)

I think it depends a lot on play style. I like to be balanced -- be able to tank for groups, off-tank/DPS and solo. I think that a balance between STR and AGI is very good for that. If you want to tank ALL the time, I would probably up the AGI and STA. If you DPS all the time, more STR, etc.

AGI is great, but if you take too much at the expense of STR, then you don't have enough power, IMO.

as a 33 monk, I suck in STA.... :

Str - 113

Agi - 133

Sta - 59

33 monk and my stats are

76 str

149 agi

69 sta

thats w/ staggering stance up (so like 135 agi non-buffed)

at 35 ill gain 2 more str, 1 more sta and 11 more agi

well considering changes in test where melee damage is weighted str vs. agi so due low mitigation upping agi as much as possible might be best choice with balance of str for more damage/power and rest for sta.

Call me crazy, but I pump Stamina every choice I get, followed by agility. I'm a Wood Elf (racial traits with Avoidence, +3% Power, +5 AGI, would have chose STA if I could) so I already have good Agility.

I just think that my base avoidence is high enough without personally pumping AGI (I group with Troubs often) that Stamina outweights Agility in terms of benefits.

Even with my avoidence cranked, I'm going to get hit every once and a while. I might as well plan for the worst case scenario.

I go agility all the way because I spend most of my time duoing with a mystic on blue ^^ mobs at 42. Self buffed, I got something around 110 str, 201 agi, 81 sta, 80.9% avoidance.

Blue melee mobs are cake. Casters are a bit harder.

When not tanking, I swap out some agility for strength and I hope soon to swap out my BP for the invoker robe.

About this new patch... is agility still the dominating factor on your accuracy? Or are they making that strength? If they are making str vs. agi the factor in landing damage (not taking about how much damage), some of us will have to reconsider a lot of racial tradition/gear choices.
