Your STR and STA need some work

Having the additional power available from strength for these long fights, and the additional health from sta to get you through will make a big difference.

If you are tanking, the agility is what counts at your level. I've taken on green ^^^ with only 3-4 members. STR/STA won't save you from those. If you can't get hit, it doesn't matter what your HP is. More HP will come into play when you have a close call. But, if you sacrifice HP for more AGI, then you are keeping yourself tied moreso the RNG. Don't forget that. Things can go sour fast (this is regardless of if you have high HP or AGI).

That's not to say STR/STA aren't important. They most certainly are. More power and hp is always welcome. Gage and Nemi might be correct in what they are saying, but I've tanked all the way up to 42 by sticking to agility and its worked this far. Its just a different style.

Don't forget that when in a group situation, between the all the buffs you get from priests and bards, your stats become a lot less meaningless. Sure, your vitals might look like this before:

60 str, 162 agi, 57 sta - but after you are buffed by various group members at your level, you'll have this:

130 str, 230agi, 127 sta + HP max buffs that I believe some priest-types can dish out.

If you are doing a lot of solo/duo work, agility is the way to go. That's all that keeps you alive. A single blow can hit you for 500hp. So, what is an extra 100hp from added stamina going to do if you get hit like that twice? But, if you are avoiding nearly every attack, it doesn't matter if it takes you a little longer to kill the mob.

I don't know Nemi's level, but I'll venture to say Nemi is 50 like Gage is. They have more insight into what a level 50 should be wearing than I would. But, considering that you won't be wearing any of the gear you have now when you are 45+, you can afford to stick w/ the agility you have now.

Besides, when you slap on 2 ancient slayer agility rings and the everburning haste buff (I think you get that soon), you'll be looking at 36% haste. At 42 with the FBSS, that jumps to 51% haste. If you are in a damage role at some point, just your pure melee damage w/ procs is pretty amazing

Enjoy your 30s!

All of what stfields says is entirely appropriate for your level, sound advice for tanking 1 to 50 in a single group setup.

Yeah and tbh I was the biggest agility lover in the game probably during the grind. I only switched after the agility nerf on my respec.

While having awesome agility is...awesome (ha ha) it truly is better to be balanced imho and I'll try to explain why:

1) Diminishing Returns: The noticeable effect you'll see from 100 to 150 agility isn't as big as you'll see from 100 to 200. Its the same for all stats in my experience. So by having all three of your main stats at 100 or close you'll be maximizing their use and able to...

2) Get the Biggest Buff Benefit: While they are indeed buffs for all the various stats, what you will find is that having 100/300/100 (stra/agi/sta) probably isn't as effective as having 200/200/200 in all three.

3) Maximizing the RNG: While it is true that if you dodge everytime 100hp isn't going to matter, the truth is that eventually you are going to get hit, and if you tank into the end game, you are going to get hit hard. The benefits of added stamina shouldn't be overlooked. Also STR is very important as it contributes to your power pool which enables you to either perform more CAs or make sure you can taunt and keep aggro, among other things.

So in reality both of the are very good ways to go with your character's build. I've went both ways. I used to sacrifice anything I could to get agility. When I respec'd I wasn't noticeably avoiding less (especially in groups) but I *did* have noticeably better HPs and power.

So I guess it just depends on how you play and what your goals are. My motto is: have STR/STA/AGI at 100/100/100 or as close as you can by 50. With all the new master drops and dolls and everything else it shouldn't be hard.

I just think that's the best way to maximize your potential.

Thank you all for your opions. I will look into getting more str. and try to get more sta. As for avoiding more my personal healer :smileywink: told me that it was alot easier to keep me alive only had to heal me twice on a fight against a level 31. But you guys are right i might be able to aviod attacks easly but when i get hit *$%#&!. We killed the soldier bettles in EL and i would be doing good and BOOM i get hit for 500 but he is a templar so he had the heal attack buff thing on. My hp right now is 1900 not buffed. is that somewhat ok..?

Once again thank you guys for all the info. Alot more help then /ooc :smileyhappy:

Lawless - GL of Qeynos Guardians - ButcherBlock server.

I've got mostly crafted T5 rare armor, a pair of +12 hex dolls, and a pair of imbued bloodstone rings, and muching on a T5 fish sandwich, and I'm at 98/195/102. It gets a boost if I swap my ljboots for some real booties.

nothing two AGI dolls cant help fix = )
77% isnt impressive. Your gear does surprisingly little when it comes to avoidance it seems. An average monk with avg. gear has about 75% avoidance.

LOL 77% not impresive you are a funny one. Most monks on my server the highest avoidance i have seen is 72% ish. and that is mostly on level 50 monks. So 77% is impresive or atleast better then most ppl. but anyways still thanks for the info guys.

Lawless

Thanks for backing me up Gage and Nemi. I felt it was necessary to relate to the OP in the sense of someone doing the grind, rather than someone in the end-game.

At 42, I believe I have 80.9% avoidance self-buffed. I won't see my gear is stellar either. It wasn't exactly cheap, but at level 40, if you spend some time just soloing and selling stuff you get in chests, you can afford T5 rare armor, a couple T5 imbued weapons (or get the heirophant crook).

I have no "Fabled" gear either. I let one pass me by like an idiot. Some guy was selling a Flesh Woven Vest (Not really sure on the name, it was a 200-250 Light armor piece with an out of combat regen, +13ish agi and +17str with nice AC). The guy was asking 3p or best offer. Like a dope, I offered 2.25p when I should've just taken it at 3p. Not like 3p is chump change either... but this gear "looked" like something I'd be wearing for a long time
