Slashing vs Sword Piercing vs Dagger???

I'm a level 30 Monk. I use a Cestus and Fistwraps (or I did till recently) to skill up my slashing and Piercing skills(currently 138 both) here is the issue.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I went to the advance item search provided by SOE, there is NO Knowledge Slashing or Piercing to search by. I noticed the other day that my Cestus and Fistwraps were not skilling me up so I took a closer look at them and they are now listed as FISTS. I check my skill list and I do not have Dagger(piercing??) or sword(slashing??) skills to compensate for the lack items with the assumably old skill sets.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What gives?</DIV></DIV>

<DIV>Im not sure what patch it was and Im not sure if this is totally correct but Monks can no longer up piercing or slash skill.  All of your weapons are based off your crushing skill.  However we can do slash dmg and pierce dmg with Cestus and Cestii but it is based off crush dmg.  I think that is how it works.</DIV>

That's not entirely true.  Was using a feysteel cestii (chest drop) and a pristine imbued engraved cestii and getting slashing skill ups.  Kinda annoying really, since until now I haven't used slashing since I became a brawler. :smileytongue:

like i said, you can't even search for items with the skill slashing or piercing anymore
