looking to make a new alt here soon just wondering if theres is a big difference between the two classes or are they for the most part the same? whos the better tank(granted the players are of the same skill lvl)? who does the better dmg? is the avoidance rating between the two the same? im more interested in how good the class is between 20-35 since it seems i can never play a char for to long before i like to make something new and different

Monks are the defensive brawlers and Bruisers the offensive types:More often than not, Bruisers will do higher DPS than a Monk, however I believe its easier for a monk to tank, simply due to the Bruisers fear component on their taunts. From 20 to 35 a monk is very verstatile (at the moment) and can switch been DPS and MT roles, although from 20-25 you'll be outshone by Warriors due to the big upgrade to heavy armour they receive at 20.I suggest speaking to Sage or Jez to get a bruisers perspective.
Message Edited by Nemi on 04-08-2005 12:45 PM

Hey there! I have a few interesting tidbits to put in. I am also starting a monk, and i'm very excited about it! A lot of people say monks have cooler looking moves. They are more of the martial artists whereas i've heard bruisers compared to boxers. The general consensus on my server (Unrest) is that Bruisers are the preferred class because they are better DPS. Personally i could care less, lol, because i just wanna have fun! I'm still gonna make my char a monk because i wanna look cool and just enjoy my time playing. With my main, when i put together groups, i will take monk or bruiser for DPS because though bruisers may do more damage, im quite sure monks can deal a good amount of damage also. If you see me on the server drop me a line, and i'll try to answer any more of your questions as i lvl up. Saris - 16 brawler Tlaen FuryShadow- 42 ranger Unrest Avante Guarde
