I'm a 23 monk at the moment and have completed AQ1-3. At 21 i did a load of quest and really worked hard to make a bunch of money ended up with about 4 GP total (may not be a lot to others who know how to make money) but I spent most of it on skill upgrades assuming with the AQ quests I'll replace my bad armour. Now that i'm 23 i have a couple of greenie rings which of course the AQ will not replace but before I blow more money on equipment I'm wondering if I'm still better off spending it on skills. I also currently intend to complete all the AQ quests.

i did my AQs and bought some cheap weps and just made do till 30.

at 30 you can wear t4 crafted items, so i spent .. too much .. on a full set of clothes / jewelery / batons / pouch (and they will max out at 40, when you can buy T5 which max at 50 ).

then i just do quests and replace as i go..

skills -- i plan on not upgrading any skills, other than defensive stances/martial line/shouts, till im in T5 since most stuff gets replaced. right now i have every defensive stance n martial line upgraded to adept 1, and only have 2 kicks/hits upgraded.

I try to upgrade all skills to at least App IV.... there is a big difference between App1 and App4, and App4s are very cheap
Full AQ, full pristine fashioned agate/gold bracelets, rings, earring, necklace, belt, two hex dolls that are appropriate for your level, a nice pouch and some shruikens, and you're set. All of that should cost about 3g~ish and a week or two of casual playing.

Finish your AQ, and also look around for quests that give other rewards. Mainly the Augur quests come to mind, where you can pick from a choice of a complete jewelery set for each one you complete. You can start with the augur in TS, then the one in Nektulos, then Zek/EL. This will help you get free, but very good jewelry stuff.
