<DIV>I always wanted a Barbarian Monk, so I started one not too long ago after I bought EQ 2 last weekend.  My reason for choosing Barbarian, or as they're called Halasian now, was because of the Strength and Stamina stats for the race.  Agility wasn't too much of a problem since it can be improved with agility items and things people get at level 8 and there on, character traits i think.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There were questions on my mind I would like to ask and see if anyone can give me advice.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am looking for armor that would suit a Barbarian Monk's need to be effective in both solo and group situations.  However, I had trouble finding decent armor and items, let alone understand the requirements for wearing armor as a Monk when shopping at countless NPCs and at the market.  I'm almost level 13 at the moment.  I already got decent armor and jewelry through newbie quests in Qeynos and all of the starting villages.  So, the questions are:  Where else can I find armor through quests and/or make decent armor like the armor quests in EQ 1?  What tradeskill will render decent armor with stats for monks?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I understood that Strength, Agility and Stamina are important, but which should be the most important out of the three for my race as a Monk?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I appreciate any advice for the questions I have.  I'm learning as much as I could, but at this point, decent armor, jewelry and weapons are issues for me to face at a low level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

Go to a broker (easiest spot is in the tradeskill instance of your starting zone)Use the drop down menus to filter on:Type:ArmorMin skill: Orange (Good way to go or something)Max skill: OrangeIn the name field type: pristineThis will filter the search to give you all the crafted armour that you can use from level 10 to 20. Examine the items in the search to make sure they are Light armour as you can wear both Very Light and Light, but you should be wearing Light.

<P>Oh, I'd use minimum skill: white</P> <P>That way it matches you or has room to grow, and in the drop down just filter it by armor, and as Nemi said make sure you are shopping for very light.</P> <P>I don't know your playstyle or playtime, but I wouldn't spend a lot of coin on armor until 30, because a lot of it you can get questing.</P> <P>Then at 20 you can do your AQ, which are fully wearable at 24.</P> <P>That'll hold you over until 30ish, when you have some coin in the bank.</P> <P>But yeah.</P>

<P>That's great!  Now, I know what to look for on the market.  :smileyhappy:</P> <P>I do have a question about crafting armor.  Is there a tradeskill that will benefit monks in crafting armor that could render decent stats?  This is something I wanted to ask if no decent armor is found on the market for a low-level like me.</P> <P>Thanks for the advice you guys gave me earlier, I appreciated them as I will look on the market for those types of armor.</P>

You can take up tailoring, from the outfitter branch, if you'd like to make your own armor for your monk, but it will ultimately have the same stats as any other tailor made pristine armor, depending on tier and rarity of items in combine.

I go as low as green sometimes when looking for armor on the broker. Low skill level rare items that commonly have better stats than higher tier crafted armor is commonly overlooked. <div></div>

Depends on your level, up to level 30, most armour scales between 10 levels, 0-10, 10-20,20-30If your level 13 then Orange will give you the best usuage for your coin. But if you're near the top, say 18, then no Orange items will show up.But yep, until 20 I just used Store bougtht armour. Cheap, does the job as MoBs aren't particularly tough at those levels. At 20 you can use store bought / Armour Quested to level 32. Around 32 your AQ1, 2 and 3 armours are really outdated and you should move onto Pristine Tailored Etched (iirc).
