Has anyone tried the combo of Wind Walk and the Camleon Trait choice?<BR><BR>I love my Wind Walk but it eats up juice at a decent rate and can you leave you in a stcky situation when exploring.  So if you had the ability which gave you invis while standing still that could be really nice.  And that trait would be at a master level I suppose as well since its a chosen trait?  So you could wait a while untill your power is low and find a safe spot and cast your cameleon which I assume uses no power and stand still invisible while you regen mana.  Best to have a good drink.  This could be a nice combo to go very deep into enemy territory.<BR><BR>It might be worth of a /respec.<BR> <p>Message Edited by Whited_Sepulcher on <span class=date_text>04-04-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:46 PM</span>

<P>yes, it works nicely..</P> <P> </P> <P>wind walk and then when your almost out of power--stand still and wait to regen.</P> <P> </P> <P>then windwalk again and be on your way.</P>

<DIV>Half elves, and I guess apparently Iksar, get a stealth/invis that only works while you stand still.</DIV>

Gnomes can choose it as well.

<DIV>Yeah I forgot to mention it was aracial trait I guess, called cameleon.  Sorry for the confusion.  I think I might get that on my respec actually as stupid as it seemed long ago.  Though I did have someone tell me at high levels they got their power regen to a point that windwalk lasted forever.  I don't know about that one for sure.  So if thats true it would be a waste of the trait and respec being level 37, currently.  Any truth out there?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So Iksar, gnomes and half-elves get it I guess now that someone mentioned it.  Nice combo regardless.  FD, or play dead is great but isn not so nice as it kills all your buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh when you have a horse this is also nice, windwalk move around quickly. Faster than a crouching scout, able to flying kick tall ogres in a single bound, able to dodge speeding sling bullets, ... </DIV> <DIV>=)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Though of course you have to rest for power, ah well.</DIV>

<DIV>On a side note, this "hide when standing still" has a 30min re-use timer....Not that useful....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I, as a gnome monk, had chosen that trait, but I was sooo happy when they let us /respec our choices a while ago. The standing still trait is totally and utterly useless - it has a 2.5 minute duration and 30 minute reuse timer... I advise you DON'T choose that trait.

<DIV>Esh 30 min timers suck.</DIV>

The only thing I have seen others use the stand still-invis for would be if their class had no invis and they wanted to buy something from the opposing city's merchant.  I think the gnome traits I chose were the fire proc (the, 'this shovel would work better with an explosive on the end of it' one) and extra agi.  The fire proc also has a 30 min timer, but is nice to have for a really tough encounter.

I agree. At 37 its worthless. It only invis's up to 33 mobs iirc and they're grey and non-kos at 37. They should have made it so it scales up forever <div></div>

I disagree, I am at level 37 currently and I have had windwalk at adept 3 since the day I got it and it was one of the best investments I have done next to adept 3 Play Dead.  Those two still get me out a jam a lot.  Granted the windwalk might start to become less effective 40+, but I havent seen it change at all yet.  So far I have had NO problems with windwalk AT ALL!  Don't have to crouch, hell, it even invises my new horse ..  haha.  But I will ask my guildie who is a monk at 43, but since I havent heard her say anything about it yet I assume its still working okay for her too.  Now if I could find some monk master scrolls =)   <div></div>

Oh scratch that whole respec theory, thanks for mentioning that, forgot how some where perm things and some where crappy long timers!  30 minutes is not worth it.  Windwalk still is great.  Do our freeport brethern have a skill that takes the place of windwalk since they dont have that?  I think someone mentioned they have mezzing or fear something. <div></div>

Interesting. I was a couple of levels off. But still, at 50 it will be worthless. How about bruisers fear/mez? Is that worthless at 50? Nope. But our invis is. hmmmmmmmm <div></div>

<P>Fear is to your Stun, as Mez is to your Invisibility.</P> <P>Mez at the higher levels has really only become a "stop him from doing something for a brief moment"... basically, I use it kinda like a stun, since it doesn't seem to last all that long (even with no one smacking him). It's not an enchanter's or bard's mez. Lately, I've been using it while soloing to try and spin around and land my flanking attack while soloing... that's the most use it's seen for a while now.</P> <P>The fear ability is very useful, however as I'd understand it.. so is your stun.</P> <P>Fear however can bork encounters in enclosed spaces, or places next to walls. Does your stun do that? Ever not want to use your group taunt because you might break the encounter and have the group scream at you? Try doing your normal tanking routine in an enclosed space without using your group taunt... that's what Bruisers have to deal with to get this fear.</P>
