<DIV>Subject says it all. I know next to nothing about monks, since I'm asking for a friend, not myself.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>There aren't any good heritage quests for monks. Certainly no Brawler-Themed quests.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lets see.. You got your Dwarven Work Boots, Mana Stone (sorta.. Kinda... Not really...), Crown of King Tranix (meh), Guise of the Deciever (goodie. Dark Elf illusion. No Stats. Yay.), Fishbone Earring....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>uhhh...</DIV>

Fishbone Earing, FBSS, Crook, Manastone (use mine more than I thought I would), Jboots about all the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
fbss, crook, manasone, guise, workboots, fb earring. But they're all good for all classes anyway really <div></div>
They should give us some of the other monk weapons from the beginning of EQ1. Items like Cracked Staff, Splintering Club, and the ever popular Rusty Mace. <div></div>

<P>I must say i am VERY disappointed with the lack of Heritage items for monks. Of course in typical SoE fasion the 'plate classes' have made out like bandits as almost every heritage is specifically for a plate type class.</P> <P>Maybe its me but I didn't enjoy using the Hiero's Crook very much, I fought with it in a few groups and solo, and it just didnt impress me much.</P> <P> </P> <P>Chandalen</P> <P>43 Monk</P>

<P>The reason there aren't any good heritage quests for Monks is that all of the heritage quests in the game now are from the original EQ classic game, which really didn't have many Monkly items because at the time, Monks were conceptually supposed to function on minimal gear. Back then, Monks mostly used their hands as weapons.</P> <P>That's the bad news. The good news is that with the game's first expansion, Ruins of Kunark, MANY Monk items were introduced, such as Robe of the Lost Circle, Fighting Batons, Knuckle Dusters, Tranquil Staff, and of course the Celestial Fists, which were the Monk epic. My hunch is that with each new expansion in this game, Sony will introduce new heritage quests that coorellate back to it's parent expansion for EQ1. That's not to say that the first expansion for EQ2 will be Kunark content. I'm simply saying that for heritage quest purposes, I think this is what they will do. I also believe that we could start seeing the introduction of class-speciifc heritage quests too in the near future as well.</P> <P>Heritages I could see in the first expansion:</P> <P>- All epics for each class<BR>- Robe of the Lost Circle<BR>- Tranquil Staff<BR>- Legendary Fighting Batons<BR>- Fungus Covered Scale Tunic (aka, the Fungi)<BR>- Sword of Skyfire<BR>- Wurmslayer</P> <P>Wow. I'm suddenly drawing a blank on a bunch of great Kunark items but hopefully, you get the picture. :smileywink: </P>

Could conceivably give guardians the EQ1 warrior epic, and conjurors the magician epic. The subclassed in EQ2 that are basically two different twists on one EQ1 class could be tricky, though, especially warlock and necromancer (since they're basically the two major aspects of the EQ1 necro).

<DIV>Oh yeah. forgot about Necromancer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yeah the thought occured to me of giving guardians the warrior epics and conjurers the mage epics, but I'm just going strictly by name of the class itself.</DIV>
<DIV>instead of always looking for items... why not other stuff? especially for monks. i see why as a guardian or a paladin/SK you would want bigger and better armors and weapons, but with the brawler line, why not change the thinking a tad bit. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the plate subclasses depend on those things like armor and weapons, why should monks and bruisers. take monk to the extreme. instead of items (though i want claws... not just that one piece they have now, i want a variety of them for different levels), why not a body/mind improvement? stat increases like to AGI or STR... or crazy stuff you see in other games - diamond body - stoneskin - perfect dodge - resists - that sorta thing. i know it will never happen, but it'd be nice to finally see a uniqueness to the subclasses, especially fighters.</DIV>

Items are things that players can be proud of, mostly because they are things that can be shown off to their friends and guildees. How many times does someone link a new weapon or piece of equipment in /gu and get a slew of "ooooohs" and "ahhhhs"? Compare that to the reaction people get when they link a new spell or combat art upgrade, which is what I think you'd lump those abilities you mentioned in.</P> <P>Personally, I want to see both. I want to see new items and I want new abilities and combat arts. All of it is what makes you feel like there is something to look forward to, something to strive to attain, and something that makes your character and more powerful. All of which is a good thing. :smileyhappy:</P>
if you look at it from other classes perspectives, they didnt get any class-specific heritages either. Heritages are very broad with their audience. <div></div>

As far as I'm aware, the only crushing heritage weapons are geared more toward priests and mages than fighters. The only heritage quests that have rewards that are useful to and usable by monks are ones that basically anyone can use (hiero crook being the exception; screaming mace doesn't really count since its proc includes an aggro reduction, and it's one handed rather than dual wield or two handed).

Do them all, sell what you can't use and upgrade from there. That is my best suggestion. They aren't worthless in the slightest to do. Granted there aren't too many with much utility for the monks out there. I'd hope that might change in the future but for now you might as well do them all, sell them to a vendor and take the proceeds and upgrade your slots or combat arts. Doesn't hurt to complete a heritage you cant use, make 60gp off it and go get yourself a Imbued duel weild item out of it. As we are avoidance, the imbued effects on our pants and chest items seem less enticing as we avoid most of the hits that come our way. <div></div>
