Question about monks vs. Varsoon the Undying

My group went up against Varsoon in Chamber of Immortality last night, and I was completely unable to hit him.  I'm level 33, and I tried ever weapon in my arsenal--Ebon Eye Mace, Ebon Eye War Maul (2h), pristine forged cestii, pristine forged hand wraps....several combos of blunt/fist/slash, but he was totally immune to all of them.  I've read a ton of contradcitory info about his immunities, but nothing concrete, so I was wondering if anyone here has had success as a monk damaging him.  The ranger in our group was able to hit him fine with Bloodlet Bow and PGT, though his feysteel kris also was immune.  The Berserker we had could hit him with the Shiny Brass Halberd.  Since there aren't any monk-usable heritage weapons (that I know of) at this level, I need some suggestions. Does anyone have recommendations for weapons to use against this guy?  I can't tell if it's a specific damage type, or just a weapon level-range that matters, but I was using all yellow/orange weapons (at 33) of 3 different damage types, and was totally unable to hit him at all...we ended up wiping when he was at about 20%, and I *know* that my DPS would have made the difference.  Thanks in advance for any input. <div></div>

That doesn't explain why I couldn't hit him with my Ebon Eye Mace or Ebon Eye War Maul.  Both blunt, both quested (treasured items, yellow at 33).  Any idea why that's so?  I thought that might be the case too, and I had read that he's immunte to piercing, but the Ranger's arrows were hitting (and they weren't blunt arrows, they were straight-up feyiron arrows).  Anyway, thanks for the input <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.  <div></div>

<DIV>Ran into same problem last week with guildmate.  Fortunately both he and the mob before Varsoon were grey to us.  I basically just taunted the entire time, and she wacked away at them for 19-33 points a damage a swing with her 1hb mace.  None of my fist based weapons worked (slash/crush/pierce) but her 1hb looted weapon worked just fine.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

The mace of ancient watchers and slime-coated mace both hit varsoon.  I kill him nightly for loot.

I used dual widled Seed of the Tenders. The acorn looking monk weapons and totally smoked Varsoon. They worked fine. <div></div>

<DIV>I dual wield Oakwood Fighting Batons and they worked great. We had a grp last night take him out. Grp ran from levels 29-37 I believe. Interesting thing was the fact that the female guardian (think she was an ethereal or something like that) was unhittabke to all in my party except me and another 34 Pally. I didn't happen to see what weapon he was using. She killed us all once. We switched up tactics and threw HO's at here left and right, while I just focused on DPS. Smoked her the second time. <DIV>It might have been a level thing.  I've killed Varsoon several times for heritage quests and assisting others with theirs and never had any problems.  It was usually the Lamia that gave us problems, never Varsoon. However, the first time I killed Varsoon I was a few levels higher.</DIV>
