View Full Version : Recast Time On spells needs to be Put Back the Way they were!

<DIV>I am talking about the staggering stance transedant vision line of Combat Abilities. After Patch this line of CA's no longer automaticaly run the recast timer once casted. Instead they are casted they run their course and when done then go into the recast timer. If I am Secondary tank and I am to keep the MT buffed with transendant vision to keep his avoidance up it would be nice if I could continualy keep it on him in a long encounter. Instead there is a gap in time when he is not buffed. I have read that this was an intended patch, how ever I think it is a horrible patch and should be changed back to a normal recast timer. I was using both these abilities at one time giving MT the 36% more avoidance from TV and giving my self the added agi from SS. this was a task in its own managing the timers since they were both on the same timer but was feezable to do.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What is every one elses take on this. I say they make them on 15 minute timers, make it so you can refresh it before it fades, and to be fair make it so it doesn't stack with any lower level staggering stance type buffs. Hell, make them use up concentration. That would take away the need to worry about recasting it all the time and make it so you couldn't cast each line of it on different people so you get multiple bonuses. The way it is now is just stupid. SS up on every other pull is ridiculous. <div></div>

I agree. Is that extra 30 seconds of haste REALLY unbalancing? It just seems to be a pain in my --- for no reason. Waiting 30 seconds to rebuff is the worst idea.. ever.. <div></div>

Because as a player of a GAME (it is a game, and no i'm not a casual player.. 12 hours a day) I don't really need extra annoyance for nothing. I'm not one to complain about balance issues (usually). I can understand that the devs are just doing their job and trying to make everything work correctly but getting me frustrated for no clear reason is stupid. If they added a pop up box every time you attacked a mob that said "YOU HAVE ENGAGED IN COMBAT" that you couldn't close for 30 seconds would it [Removed for Content] you off? <div></div>

I would like to see it fixed. Face of the Mountain is broken this also. Alot of these skills mentioned here also break now and seem to lock out like they are cast ... but they are not cast. They never refresh and only logging off and back on fixes it. Very disappointed they broke our skills like this. My birthday is coming up in a few days and a friend is getting me WoW cause he says its alot more fun than EQ2. I will be trying it out and see if the grass is greener on the other side. SoE its all these little PITA things you insist on doing thats driving users back to EQ1 or WoW. At least you did fix the god [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] jump bug you introduced. <div></div>

<FONT color=#ffcc33>Although I find this change annoying, it has been a <EM>great</EM> change for bards and I support that. Bard buffs usually cost both power and concentration and have 10- or 15-minute recast timers. Before this patch, bards could not rebuff until they either clicked off the buffs (to free up the conc) or waited until the buff expired and recycled. Now all they have to do is click the buff to start, click it again to stop (and free up the conc), wait 5 or 10 seconds and rebuff. It's a tremendous change for bards because of the nature of their buffs. Unfortunately, it's a pain for monks because our buffs have 30+ second recast timers. Whereas before you could keep someone fully buffed all the time with Staggering Stance/Martial Discipline/etc., now you must essentially skip a fight or part of a fight sometimes because the buff is slowly recycling. I recommend that SOE leave things as-is, because the change is great for bards, but increase the duration of short-duration monk buffs to 5- or 10-minutes.</FONT>
