Not sure if anyone has caught this yet, but Devestation Fist does not have an adpet 3 or adept 4 version in the new alchemy books. There are two recipes in the new books, one is for crusader, one is for warriors. I am not sure if this is by design or oversight. It is very possible that Devestation Fist is one of those abilities that will never be upgraded. If it is an instant kill against solo enemies it would never need to be upgraded. An upgrade would obviously have 0 effect unless they added some increased level of the ability. Since I cant imagine any increase I am going to assume it is by design.

I wish its damage did something against heroic/epic encounters. Not the insta-kill portion mind you. I don't really know what others get but right now our spell seems more like a fun spell than something actually useful. If it would do the normal damage component against epic mobs and leave the self-stifle/insta-kill for solo mobs, it would be a cool and useful spell.

As it is, it's a toy that you show-off with.

I would be really hesitant at any sort of upgrade, as it's already a whine-magnet. I would rather keep it in its current form than have it improved later then nerfed to unfunnitude.
Please take this skill away, its causing nothing but the balance w.h.ores to cry over it, give us a different ability. We're getting too much attention. Also, please 1-star me ASAP because you like the skill and are very closed minded If its only a toy, why cry over taking it out?

yeah, i guess ill step in and throw in my dice...

the spell is all but useless saying as though, very few people solo that much as for it to be of consistent use, but then again, you have to do the GROUP BASED quest to get the spell, so it wont matter if you solo or not... lol

it would be nice to be a group buff or somn... or maybe even an extra attack... or how about a 25% chance to critical strike?

heck i dont know- but in its present form its a fluff spell first = dreadknaught krappa...

about as useful as a paladins horse... lol = then again - it isnt useful that often either...

im sleepy- ill shut up now.

and before someone replies with, "Good, or Please Do", im way ahead of you buddy!!!!

It's not useless. You can use it to death touch normal mobs in a heroic encounter of 4 or more mobs (but not when the encounter includes a named mob). When playing DPS, I like to save it to death touch a mob that is attacking a healer/mage. Sometimes I'll use it to take out a warlock mob at the start of a fight to avoid the chance of a Nil Distortion, though caster mobs die in about five seconds and it's not hard to keep them stunned for a few seconds. Sometimes I'll death touch the last mob in the encounter just to see the big pretty number.

When playing MT it is very dangerous to use, and I'll only use it in a very safe area to kill the last mob in an encounter when I know there is no chance of an add. If I death touch something and we get an add, I'm standing there looking stupid for 30 seconds with only a single target taunt. That gets groups killed.

But mostly, I use it to death touch random solo mobs that wander near our group. POW, I yell. POW. It makes me very happy.

yeah, i guess the point i was trying to make on a serious note was that, in high level zones, there arent many aggro solo mobs that just roam around battle. Not enough to be of any worth. Now if a mob gets on someone because they used a AE while it was around then fine, SUPER DUPER UBER PUNCHAROONIE INCOMING!!!!!.

but that doesnt happen nearly often enough to be of notice...simply because they are separating mobs from solo to group in different areas..

But when it happens, it's GREAT! POW!! It makes me happy just thinking about it.

I've played a lot of games and this is my favorite ability in any of them.

The skill is now really useful since the solo mobs patch. They put in tons of solo mobs, now all I see are solo mobs everywhere in EL. I get more xp soloing than in a bad or slow group. If I am fighting a yellow con and got another add, I could just kill the first one and DF the second. It is much more reliable than FD. And I don't know if it is just luck, but it seems I get higher chances of chest drop from an instant kill than fighting it normally. I am only lv 35, so things could change, but right now it is very useful. And I just became #19 on my server's highest magical hit.
