View Full Version : A suggestion to the avoidance vs mitigation problem
Rather than try to balance the Fighters with each other and also the Priests with each other I suggest the following: Balance Priests with Fighters: 1) Clerics work with Warriors 2) Shamans work with Brawlers 3) Druids work with Crusaders Rework Priest spell lines to complement certain Fighter types. For example (purely as a brainstormer here) Make Brawlers able to use their mitigation with Shaman wards to improve their efficiency Give a bonus to the Druid regen heal when cast on a Crusader Make the reactive heal last longer on a Warrior I can see it may be too late for SoE to do this. Many priests will probably hate it too, but to me its the only way to balance avoidance vs mitigation is to use complementary healer. As long as Mob damage-output scales faster than Tank hps, mitigation will always be king. <div></div>
would be interesting <div></div>
The architype system is designed to allow for more grouping options, not less. This kind of pairing turned up too high will create more problems then it solves as if you have one of a particular class in your group, you have to search for their matching opposite to get the group going. <div></div>
maybe maybe not <div></div>

As it is, on paper, some healers work better for some fighters and others work poorer. However, it has been my experience that, at least at lower levels, the type of healer is much less important than the skill of the player. True, matching up healer to fighter lets the healer slack off a little bit <span>:smileyhappy:</span> but other combos are by no means unplayable, they just have to keep more on their toes. I have grave concerns that exaggerating this matchup <i>would</i> make certain fighter-healer combos unplayable.</span><div></div>
