View Full Version : Monks screwed with imbuing.

<DIV>There are almost no Monk related weapons that can be imbued. The bo-staff, the most used weapon by Monks, cant be imbued. No batons or quarterstaves either. Maces (ugly), cudgels(god awful) and Great hammers(Horrendous).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know some monks like the weapons above, but since we dont get hit as often as other classes the armor procs arent as useful either. I spent all day yesterday trying to get a pristine imbued oak staff created, only to find out it isnt even in the books.</DIV>

<P><EM>by Frizznik</EM></P> <P><EM>I posted in the weaponsmith forum, so you probably didn't see. I am doing a revision on the weapon types that can be imbued. It should extend to all weapons that can be currently made. </EM></P> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>enjoy</DIV>

<P>If you read the weaponsmith forums, you will see that a tradeskill dev by the name of Frizznik stated that all current EQ2 player made pristine quality weapon models will be able to be imbued in an upcoming patch.</P> <P>This will include some of my best weapons of all - fistwraps and dw maces, in addition to cestii, cestus, and knuckles.</P> <P>Just imagine fists that proc for up to 300 about every 20th swing. It's a happy picture for us all.</P>

<DIV>Tailors make a cloth shadowed hex doll - Activateable slot (free slot) - casts a 20% slow (that's the description, don't know if it is true) - +11agi. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not too shabby.</DIV>

expensive, and how many charges? <div></div>

No charges, forever I do believe.</P> <P>So adding +24 str, or 12sta 12str or 24agi (or any combination) from two slots that previously didn't have stats is pretty nice.<BR></P>
whoa, nice stats, unlimited 20% slow, in activatible slot, for 25g!? <div></div>

<P>The different stat's are different dolls, and each offer various effects.</P> <P>The figwart root is the t5 rare component you need, on my server they go for about 25g. You also need some sort of "luminous" harvest, whether its a tooth, stone, flower, fish scale etc, and finally you need a tailor to make the item for you.</P> <P>So I assume all said and done probably around a plat or so, depending on how much you pay for the uncommons.</P>

<DIV>Does someone actually have two of the same hex dolls to see if the stat mods add up? I assume they do.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So the +11 agility one is tier 4?</DIV> <DIV>Then +12 tier 5?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One measly point of difference for a higher tier? This sounds odd. I wonder if they intentionally did this. +11 is already amazingly high. This ratchets up the ability of PCs quite abit. I assume NPCs dont really get anything from this. Of course you have to invest time or money to get these benfits. Sony going to ratchet up the mobs again like they did to group mobs ahile ago? Probably not, but I wouldn't be suprised.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know if +12 is the next tier it will cost way too much comapred to +11, save money and get something better elsewhere maybe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I dont have any experience with these imbued things. I wonder how the spell effects work on these.</DIV>

<DIV>The slow they are talking about is a run speed slow (like 20-26%). Why they call it "slow" and not snare i don't know... there is a separate Hex Doll that lowers attack speed by 6-8%. The other ones i have seen (just bought recipe book today) lower mitigation or spell damage mitigation of target by 13%. I haven't been able to make any yet since i can't get the "glowing" components. The above stats are only from the 1st hex doll recipe book... i need to get a few more levels before i can scribe the 2nd. I just wanted to clarify that not everyone is going to be running around with a 26% attack slow. </DIV>
ahhh.. a snare. makes more sense <div></div>

<DIV>Someone asked,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does someone actually have two of the same hex dolls to see if the stat mods add up? I assume they do.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>They should, I have two imbued rings, one that buffs +12 str, one that buffs +12 agil. Both can be up at the same time. Each buff lasts 24 minutes. The only annoying thing is that after 1-2 uses, I have to remove the item and re-equip it to be able to use it again (the use optoin seems to disappear).</DIV>
Confirmed - they do <div></div>

How long do these procs, effects, whatever work for? 2 uses and you have to requip? How annoying! Hopefully they fix that bug soon. <div></div>

<DIV>The stat buffs from rings last about 25 minutes I believe. You can equip - cast buff- de-equip if you wish. The hex doll snare debuff lasts approximately 3 minutes. I am not sure about the other hex doll debuffs. You do not need to equip/re-equip them to re-use them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just drag a hex doll from your activateable slot to your hotbar. You now have a clicky for that buff. Doing that seems to get rid of the "bug" where you can't right-click-"use." </DIV>
