View Full Version : Block = 0%?
<DIV>Sorry, not sure if this has already been addressed somewhere but I didn't feel like digging through 8 pages of name calling over the we are tanks vs we are dps debates, but does anyone know if our Block % when we mouse over our avoidance is supposed to be 0? Seems kind of silly to me to have these "built in shields" yet we can't block anything.</DIV>

Yes because our block skill comes from Deflection. the Block skill you see when you mouse over is from shields. <div></div>
<DIV>That's what I'm saying. We have built in bucklers... shouldn't we get a block bonus from them?</DIV>

<P>Are you wearing a shield on your arms?</P> <P>No?</P> <P>Then you have ZERO block. You know.. it really is kind of hard to block something without your shield....</P>

Yes, we block. Therefore there is a skillcheck somewhere for block. It shouldn't read 0%.</P>

I know this is is a game and all, but somehow I think its possible that the blocking portion of martial arts in real life <i>might </i>have been incorporated in the monk class somewhere seeing as how we are a defensive archetype. And the devs said we have built in bucklers from two big patches or so ago. If it doesn't work like any other shield then what is the purpose of having the built in buckler?</span><div></div>
stfields, I think that block message you see is from our deflection skill. When we dodge it would say the mob misses you, when we riposte it says you hit the mob, when we deflect it says we block. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think block is a completely different skill from deflect. Honestly I'm not sure, which is why I started this thread <span>:smileywink:</span> <div></div>
Actually build-in shield is the term used at the top of the patch note, but the actual patch description said: - Increased monk and bruiser Deflection to provide the equivalent of always having a round shield equipped. Since the skill numbers are the same, I am guessing they increased the effect of Deflection. <div></div>
Cool, that explains it then. Guess I forgot the exact wordage of the patch note and thought we were getting gypped. Thanks =D <div></div>
