<div></div>Since the patch allowing us to see avoidance percentages, I decided to see if Staggering Stance was functioning properly.  At level 24 Adept III Staggering Stance states: 12 AGI on the caster 25% Avoidance on the target. Since I cannot cast it on myself, I had a level 20 Dirge friend group with me and had him watch his avoidance.  Before the spell was cast, he had 53.1% avoidance.  Afterwards he had the same exact avoidance.  No visual change of the 25% to avoidance as the spell states.  My avoidance increased by 2.2%, I presume from the agility I recieve from the buff. Not satisfied, I had him attack a grey mob to see if perhaps the buff only took effect when the target recieving the 25% avoidanace was under attack.  Still no change in avoidance noticed by him. I was not satisfied with that information, so I borrowed a random 21 monk and asked him to cast Staggering Stance on me.  I watched my avoidance prior to casting and it was sitting at 73.2%  After he cast it on me, there was no change in my avoidance at all.  I expected the buff to either increase my 73.2% avoidance by 25% of 73.2% which is 18.3% or it would be a straight 25% increase.  Neither way was the case, there was no visual change. I'm not positive the buff isn't working at all as intended because I did not parse before and after fights to see if the avoidance was still being applied even though you did not see it properly displayed, but regardless this is a bug that should be looked into. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Bewts on <span class=date_text>03-23-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:38 PM</span>

<DIV> <DIV>I've had the staggering/martial/Transcendence line all lock up tonight.  this seems to be tied in with the stealth lock as well.  Lock up meaning it stayed grey till I zoned.  Couldn't use it at all.</DIV></DIV>

<DIV>The Staggering Stance line doesn't add to your target's avoidance.  It gives you a chance to deflect an attack from the person you casted it on.  The description is a little misleading, but trust me, this is how it works.  You can see this sometimes when you cast it on the person pulling and you riposte an attack from all the way back at your camp spot before the puller returns.</DIV>

Thanks for the info, if it is misleading then it needs to be worded correctly.  I saw 20% avoidance on it when I first got it and thought it was a great buff, now im dissapointed I blew a coral on it. <div></div>

<DIV>Intervene splits damage between the person that is getting hit and you.  You take no damage when staggering stance works because you are deflecting a hit for the person you casted it on.</DIV>

Staggering stance gives me parry, block, etc skill ups when the target starts getting whacked. :smileyvery-happy:

<DIV>Funny thing, that.  Last night I hunted for the first time since the patch, duoing green and blue ^^s with a paladin.  He was a level higher than me so I made him tank and I used Staggering Stance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Over the next couple hours of hunting, I received NO skillups on my defensive skills, and got many very rapidly as soon as we split up and I went off to do some solo work.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is Staggering Stance working right since the patch?</DIV>
