<DIV>I have been thinking about the choices of race and specials for a monk. A lot of time my monk will be soloing, and when grouped, he will be grouped with a guardian. So, I'm thinking I should choose a monk with balanced STR, AGI and STA for those times I solo and choose traits that assist in doing damage to individual mobs rather than group taunts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do the experienced monks here see flaws in my plan? Will I regreat it later? If I choose more group friendly skills like area taunts will is noticably decrease my solo skills? Is STR going to be important so I can deal more damage when solo?</DIV>

Just my opinion, and in no way is it absolute.I still go primarily agility with my monk. I'm lvl 35 now and I primarily solo. A good estimate would suggest I've likely solo'ed throughout 80+ percent of my monks advancement.

It has been proven (atleast in my eyes) that wich stat you choose to focus on isn't terribly important. Perosnally i've taken the balanced approach (IE: trying to keep all my stats as close to eachother as possible.. well STR/STA/AGI atleast) and I solo fairly well.

<DIV>If you got good gear, you should be able to solo well with any race. I am a lvl34 ogre monk with high STR (~100) and low AGI (~80) and I am happy with my soloing. Recently soloed those lvl38-39 nymphs for A Lonely Tree quest for one of a choice of 4 Adorberg weapons (the duel wield fist one was worse than my oakwood weapon). </DIV>
