<DIV><FONT size=3>38 monk here  and today i was totally owned by a blue solo con lvl 35 huuptic on feerrot beach..what gives ..and on several occassion fightin these ugly lil kreatins ive come close to death ..1 outa 10 i might have more than 50% hlth after the battle but most of the time im hangin on in the low orange to red zone after a fight...now i wont go into what other classes that i saw fightin the solos  on the beach the last few days as i was; but needless to say all where fairing better than me even at a few lvl's lower than me ..so my question is r these things very monk unfriendly(which i was thinkin..until i tried othere various blue solo mobs in feerrot and rv which much the same results) or am at some kinda in between lvl that makes soloin hard to do...or this is the norm from here on out for most all classes in the higher tier zones...and my gear is uo ti snuff (full set of emerald hide minus the helm(engraved helm)  all yellow orange jewels(2 shiny shard braclets ect...) pristine oak bo staff ...abils adept 1 except for 1 or 2 that are at app4 that i cant get hold of .. and this all happend while runnin sweeping crane app4 puttin my def skill at around 204 or so and using karmic focus adept 1(ac around 4.8k and change and attk at close 668 or so)any thoughts?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3>Rolangard; Slayer of Fairies</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3>toxxulia</FONT></DIV> <P>Message Edited by Yojimbo99 on <SPAN class=date_text>02-25-2005</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>09:11 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Yojimbo99 on <span class=date_text>02-25-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:47 AM</span>

<DIV>were they shreding you with casting?  Mobs with same con can yeild very different encounter results.  I can solo a beaver in EL (green ^ ^ ) and head to the kitchen for food at the same time but some some con blue solo mobs can wear down half my damage with casting. </DIV>

<DIV>i wish it was a casting mob issue but these guys r pure melee(and rather hard hittin .200-360 a whack and several in a row along with all those pleasant stuns they throw out as well)..and the hit to miss ratio for me has been something less than desired as of late ...even specials r hittin a lot less..(could be a bad streak of luck for the last fews days ....im hoping) green to orange in a few seconds on a solo blue 2 -3 lvls lower  is a bit hard to stomach ..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Rolangard; Slayer of Fairies</DIV> <DIV>toxxulia</DIV>

I've done a bit more than a full level soloing these (at 37.9 now) and I don't think I've ever had that kind of trouble. The champions are definitely tougher than the fetchers, and I usually finish with them at about 40% life. We sound similarly equipped too... 662 ATK, 4874 AC, mostly using Adept 1s, 2h staff. It's getting pretty dull now as I always use the same combo of attacks:Lu'Sun's stifleDiving DragonDarting SparrowWintry TalonRushing BearPlodding TortoiseLu'Sun'sPouncing TigerStumbling BoarGrappling BearLu'Sun's (with a 5 second pause before this one, maybe I should mix in a HO or something)Pouncing TigerPlodding TortoiseLu'Sun's (another pause before this)Diving DragonDarting SparrowWintry Talonand the mob is almost always dead by now. Against fetchers I'm usually at 70% life or so, 40% or so against champs.

<DIV>My quess is you were fighting one of the huuptic champions, these seem to be the boosted mob for the huuptics. I know in my week of camping them trying to get the tattered robe to drop that the champions parry more, hit harder, have more hp  and usually forced me to use more def skills when fighting them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think these mobs share the same relationship that wasps and wasp of darkness do, as well as evol conscripts and evol inquisitors do. </DIV>

<DIV>more than likely was  a champion(and also explaining  the reason i had probs in rv ..rabid hounds vs normal ones)..and being that as it may there is a huge difference on the con of these mobs then..no biggie ill keep monking along ...just sux to go dwn to a solo mob 3 lvls lower..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Rolangard; Slayer of Fairies</DIV> <DIV>toxxulia</DIV>

<DIV>Dunno...my experience was the same as bones, and I'm only lvl 36.  Sure they'll get me to about 50% health sometimes, but never into the orange.  Maybe just a string of bad luck/rolls?</DIV>

<DIV>Level has a huge impact on fights from what I've seen.  My wife (Fury) and I duoed a bunch in EL this weekend and I a few times we got jumped by a blue con lvl 34 ++ mob (bears).  We didn't have any issues with them so we decided to go hunt them.  We went 0-5 against the same named mob, only lvl 35.  (with me being lvl 36 at the time.)</DIV>
