The tailored stengthened armor (40-50 light crafted) now looks like the standard boiled gear from the 20s. Very dissapointed. Atleast robe of the invoker covers most of it, but the gloves are TAN colored and very ugly.

<DIV>You need to get sol charred gloves. White con to 50, 9 agility and all black. Glad I don't have crafted gloves.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yeah the fact that my lvl 17 bard and my lvl 50 monk look the same except for the robe is kinda stupid heh.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm disappointed in the rare armor too, looks like I'm getting fistwraps and a satchel made with my pelts.</DIV>

I need those and some black boots. The spider-walk(silk?) boots from the nightblood quest look like the fury AQ camo.
<DIV>what does the etched armor you can wear at 30 look like now? I liked the all black leather look.</DIV>

Hopefully it's a bug, otherwise I'd say start a thread in the graphics forum and tell em how displeased you are with the "new" look of the armor. They seem pretty responsive, maybe they'll change it again.

<DIV>anyone know if they messed with armor values also?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>had a nice chestguard that gave me +5 agility at lvl 22 which i thought was pretty good i logged in today and after checking my defense which was surprisingly high i then checked my armor seeing if anything was different and my cuirass went from 144 max at lvl 25 i think then it went down to 50 max at 15?</DIV>

<DIV>My god us monks went from looking sweet in our red and black armor (40-50 crafted exept for gown of woven grass and spiderwalk sandels) to looking like a dirty hobo wearing a bunch of potato sacks sewed together. This is not cool I really liked the way we looked and now we just look bad. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Personally, I always wanted that draped over robe from the beta videos that looked oh so close to a shaolin monk's robe. I was looking forward to having that look, and then being able to role play all my kung fu movie quotes in game. Anyways, I guess I am used to it. Played a monk in EQ1, EQ2, and NWN, and they always have this patch work leather armor look. They really need to add in a diversity of shaolin robes, buddah beads, maybe even tattoos. Remember monks are miminalists and only carry with them what is necessary to survive. They train their body and their mind to act as one (the one body, one mind concept), practice both internal and external strength. I mean they named the main monk skill tranquility. They gave the monk combat skills, kung fu like names. Yet, I have not seen very few martial weapons, very few monk like clothing and armor, but they gave that monk in the eq 2 beta movies that shaolin robe. I mean its like the old bait and switch almost.I wana see better monk like weapons (spear, long pole, scythe, tai chi sword, nunchuku, etc). I would like to see a wider variety in monk animations. Tiger, crane, mantis, monkey, wing chun, choy lay fut, karate, dragon, etc all have distinct motions, ideas, concepts, and movements; I would like to see a wider diversity in how monk skills are executed. I can only think down the road on expansions you can develope certain skills even deeper in your sub class. Like a crane style practitioner monk, who would have improved deflection and defense from the natural stances and concepts of white crane boxing. So on and so forth. Maybe this is too much to ask for I don't know. However, I know that both SOE and the EQ2 developement team is easily capable of doing this. Being a martial artist myself, I tend to really get into the monk class beacuse of the ideas of these things happening. I am sure everyone who plays a monk is at least a kung fu movie fan. I mean you know who you are, you've seen all those old jet li, jackey chan, and chow bros films. You've seen all those HK movies. You know that part of being a monk is looking cool and doing really cool martial arts movements. All the hype this game got and all the dev teams and technology behind it, I do not see why any of this is unreasonable. I will come out and say, the monk in eq2 is so much better than they were in EQ1. I applaud the devs for that. However, can you please make us look like we are level 50. Its like when you watch a kung fu movie, you can tell which guy is the master, he always looks like he can whoop the most [FaarNerfed!]. Or maybe I am just too into martial arts, and it carries over into my video game habbits I dunno. Anyways if the devs ever read this post, I am sure there are others that feel this way, so perhaps a little look into wouldn't hurt?

No Gangster, I concur. And I think your ideas are excellent.

Today's patch notes. Seems like the armor was changed again.*** Gameplay *** - The advanced solo/small group encounters introduced into Nektulos Forest, Thundering Steppes, and Enchanted Lands were more difficult than intended and have been adjusted. They should now present a reasonable challenge for well-equipped soloers and small groups of two or three players. Treasure drops have been adjusted accordingly. These encounters are indicated in the target window as solo, but can be distinguished from normal solo encounters by the NPC's name. For example, "an enraged dragoon soldier" would be more challenging than "a dragoon soldier."- Many armor appearances and tints that were set incorrectly in yesterday's update have been corrected.- Gown of the Spurned, Dragon Fastened Robe, and Exquisitely Stitched Robe should now have correct appearances.- All gowns should now appear as robes instead of tunics.- Players who die inside one of the new instanced dungeons in Orcish Wastes, the Enchanted Lands, or Thundering Steppes can reclaim their shards at the docks by right-clicking on the torch.– The Screaming Mace will now be visible to players, allowing them to complete their heritage quest.- Unscathed Gnoll bones can now be found in Thundering Steppes.- Stiletto and the Lightbringer Wisp will now drop their heritage quest-related items on their corpses.- NPC merchants no longer have any interest in purchasing your pets.===========================MoorgardEverQuest II Community Guy

<DIV>Grrr, Gown of woven grass was turned from a decent lvl 39+ Light armor, to Very light armor with pittyfull AC. Huge nerf, I've had to go back to my tunic I got from Runnyeye after killing 200 goblins <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

the noted changes do not affect light armor at all. It still is idential to what it was(atleast the 39+ stuff is)

None of the patch notes say anything about changing any armor's stats or type, just its appearance. What you describe is probably a bug.
