<DIV>I've been using Firwood Fighting Batons through my low 20's. I have yet to see a weapon other than the Splitpaw Staff of Snaring that has such increadible stats in comparison.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just purchased two Ebon Quarterstaves last night as a replacement.. Then I realized that I'm only 3% away from those weapons going white.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well. not only did I buy weapons with slightly less stats than what I was using, now I gotta spend EVEN MORE MONEY to buy upgrades to them!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've only found *ONE SINGLE WEAPON* on the market that is actually orange at level 26. Its a 2hb and I have no problem with that, but it has no stats whatsoever.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=6>WHERE ARE ALL THE GOOD WEAPONS!?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=6></FONT> </DIV> <DIV>I don't want to spend 3 gold to buy an upgrade for my weapons every Quarter of a level I go through till I hit level 30...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm desperate here folks. They need to make better weapons for monks to use from level 25-30.</DIV>

I had trouble in the high 20s also. Found there to be a serious lack of weaps in that span. I think there are some crafted cestii though now, that werent in when i was 25ish.Should note that this was the only time there was really an issue.

<DIV>Do you mean the one's i am using (click on name in my sig to see profile) or are there better ones?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Everything else i've seen (except a pair of maces i saw a lvl 26 monk using) either comes out as rough equal to them in damage, or doesn't quite have as good stats.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Which i guess means that there are weapons out there, they are just harder to come by.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>P.s if you are good and haven't already - check your fence broker, they often sell items at a much better rate than you'll find in qeynos. I bought a ring on there last night for 1g that I had not found for less than 3g in qeynos.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by PeoplesAssassin on <span class=date_text>01-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:36 AM</span>
I bought a pristine conditioned ash bo staff after my firwood batons started lacking and have stuck with it since, neatly (ish, bit of a hit on the stats) avoiding the gap.Could you post the raw stats for whatever item youre using ? (I cant look at the items in your profile)the ash bo is 2 agi 2 wis 19 power 12 health 2 int 3 strDamage 8 - 25 (not sure how much its doing atm (2<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> high sixties if I remember correctly)Delay 1.7Required 100Recommended 150(grabbed from a site, may be incorrect)I know its inferior in terms of stats to even the firwoods but its done me ok and havent had to look for a stop gap weapon. As an aside,For 30+ I have bought a pristine conditioned oak bo staff for 2hb (should be good DPS) and am starting to gather dual wield weapons for 30+ for the stats.<p>Message Edited by Aillor on <span class=date_text>01-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:05 AM</span>

<DIV>Aillor, sorry, the reason i didn't directly pos tthe stats is because I am at work also and cannot see the inventory pane on eq2players <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i'll post em later, around 4-5 hours.</DIV>

Pretty much any player made t3 pristine DW weapon will do better dmg 26-30, or you could probably get a crude or shaped t4 weapon if your crafter makes any.I have about 5 weapons they all have higher dmg than the firwood baton (at that lvl range), althoug not as high of stat modifiers.

<DIV>I'm currently level 25 and use a yellow con and a blue con weapon, both of them have super stats and a nice dmg/dly ratio: Glowing stone rod and Bone crafted batons. Both are drops off named mobs in TS. My signature should link to my profile, but of course the item details are totally out of whack, as with all items on eq2players... I think I should stop paying SOE for the no-service they deliver here.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, recalling the most important things from the head (which might be a tad wrong), one of them has 6 agi, 1.7 delay, the other 4 agi and 1.5 delay. Damage on one of them for me at 25 is 13-39 if I recall correctly, the other one is a bit lower, but not much. My highest melee hit according to EQ2players is 145 with the bone crafted batons (which is the lower damage weapon of the two, but I only got the rod last night, so we'll see). I like them and am not desperate for upgrades for a little while... and they come along anyway. :smileyhappy:</DIV>

If you don't like tanking and never do, I would have to say that you could sacrifice some agi for other stats. I don't have the greastest AGI, but still have around a 80% hit percentage while not tanking. If you do find yourself tanking a lot then i would say to pay attention to AGI as it's an asset. The prob with the Firwoods is yeah they have good stats, but they max out at level 24. T3 player crafted have slightly less stats but far better damage than the Firwoods and are good up til level 30 (can start picking up some serious replacements at level 2<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. T3 rare crafted weapons are really nice, but are attuneable, pricey, and hard to come by. If you see weapons such as a Steel Mace that aren't attuneable they are T3 mob dropped (pretty sure all crafted rare stuff is attuneable only). I've been very happy with my pristine conditioned ash quarterstaves. Was able to pick up a pair for 1gp and they've served me well. Even though they only have 3 agi a piece I tank level 31 clay guardians in Varsoon without a problem at level 28 while still leading the group in DPS. So IMO they work fine.<BR>

Right now I think i have a pristine ash cudgel and a splintered quarterstaff. ash is yellow with 2 or 3 agi and the staff is blue is 4 agi. I am level 25. I play on the mistmoore server and there is barely anything that for sale on weapons for me. i have been doing the EL boat quest but with no luck for weapons there. Rares would be great sure, but it is near impossible to find them on my server and I guess I have to raise my harvesting skill. Next when I do my sort, i cap it at orange, should I stop doing this? Figuring if the item it is attuned yet it is red?
