<DIV>I just turned 26 and was rewarded with another non-attack related attack skill; I think Sparking Cobra was the last thing I have received that actually did any damage. What is with these tanking skills of increasing hate and increased deffense and the like if we can't tank?<BR>(Don’t want to start another monk tank debate but it can’t be argued that monks should be MTs if guardians or paladins are available)<BR> <BR>My other question, when I turned 26 I was able to choose another skill or power not sure what it is called (but it is that green box with a plus sign) so I picked leadership and it conned white or gray to me? Did I just pick a crappy skill? Why would I be able to pick a skill that has little to no effect at my age?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanks for any suggestions.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>You will get to pick again. When the next patch goes live, we all get to repick our skills... I think.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway my suggestion when you have a choice about stats to pick, if one of them is Agility, then pick that. Failing that, if you can pick either Strength or Stamina then do it, your choice. Obviously if you see something that you would MUCH rather have than better base stats, go for it. But my feeling is that a monk can never have too much agility. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It seems that some Agility buffs that other players can place on us are percentage based (Gage correct me if I am wrong) and that means if you want to tank, maxing out that agility score is definitely going to help when you get a percentage based Agility buff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Last night at level 26 I was tanking with a 122 Agility. That was a pretty cool experience I must say <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Last night at 43 I was tanking with 155 so I'd say you're doing well. Although I bought another runner's ring since then.</P> <P>Yeah in my opinion its: agility, strength and then stamina. Stamina leads to your overall HPs, agility of course is for deflection, and strength helps you to hit harder.</P> <P>IMO.<BR></P>

Sure Monks can tank that is not what I was saying. What I was saying since we are an offense based class one would think that we would be bestowed some high level attacks more often.

<DIV>I think Gage, like many of us, is probably just tired of many posts based on Eqlive conceptions of monks, stating that monks can't tank, that they're just DPS and not as good as scouts, that they're broken, etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is enough misinformation here and in-game that it proves frustrating to those who can and do successfully tank with a monk.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I wouldn't call it a complex.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That said I think its interesting how higher DPS + Avoidance is HOW monks tank. That is our method for tanking. Its not tanking plus DPS, the higher DPS is part of how our tanking works. Posts asking only about DPS miss this issue and thereby confuse the matter.</DIV>
