<DIV>I have bug reported this, but thought I would check and see if anyone else had this issue. I used to used Focused Strike to pull my mobs to me, until I got a leather pouch and some shurikens. The range was far better and at 99 shurikens per stack and cheap costs it seemed a good way to save power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For several days this was a better way to pull, but yesterday I noticed that many of my attacks said " You are to close to the mob you are attacking, back away". Now, I've had the "you are too far away " message we've all gotten on Rapid Swings, but this was the first time I'd been too close. I tried the next mob without a shuriken no message, and over 6 or 7 other tries found that every time I pulled with a shuriken I would get the message on my kicks and punches during the fight. In fact, on one fight I did not use a shuriken until the fight was 75% over...used it...and immediately started to get the "too close" message on my other kicks and punches. BTW, backing away from the mob did nothing to alleviate the problems or eliminate the messages.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The real issue was that the specail arts/attacks seem to be completely negated, with the message being substituted for the damage that would otherwise normally accrue, so that blue mobs became life-threatening.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I reported this and cleared the range attack key to be safe. Anyone else getting these messages?</DIV>

<DIV>Did you remember to turn on Melee attack when the mob got close? <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Basically when you toss an item at the mob you actually turned on your range auto attack. What then happens in the mob gets back to you or your group and if you have not (i found) turned off ranged auto attack and then turn on melee auto attack you wil get the messege.</DIV>

<DIV>rofl I still forget on occasion, in the heat of battle, I'll keep seeing the msg and dance all around trying to get proper distance. Then of course my pea brain kicks in and I remember to hit melee attack. Doh!!</DIV>

<DIV>There might actually be some merit to this although along a different line. Throughout my EQII monk career I have pulled almost exclusively with Shurikens. I've only resorted to pulling with focused strike if I ran out and my monk homie wasn't around to share daggers with me. Yesterday however I noticed that I had to get a lot closer to mobs to actually hit them with my shuriken throw. This seems to be an off and on occurence as it has happened breifly other days in the recent past. Are there factors that determine our range other than our skill? Yesterday it definitely seemed that my arm was "out of gas" so to speak when usually I have a cannon for an arm. Anyone else notice this?</DIV>

I have noticed a lack of consistency when it comes to Shuriken range in the past couple days. Last night it seemed like I could hit skellies from farther away, but then today, I couldn't hit a wolf at any range. I kept getting a "you cannot see your target" message. At any rate, I still prefer shurikens to focus strike.Faryll, Antonia Bayle

<DIV>I actually had a problem like that but I had bought a hammer bag and was trying to throw starts... I bought some hammers and Im tossing them like crazy =p</DIV>
<DIV>Sometimes it could be an LOS issue. Try jumping when pulling, fires almost every time.</DIV>
