<DIV>I am currently making a monk (havign serious second thoughts after reading much of this board) and wanted to know if it would be better to be an alchemist monk, due to essences and the monks reliance on skills and damage more than armor, or an outfitter. Are the player crafted armors worth anythign anyway? ANy advice would be most appreciated, thank you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Arconox 6 fighter  6 artisan </DIV>

<DIV>I picked outfitter as a noob and dislike it. I 'rerolled' and spent time getting to 20... then Gage made me like my monk again... thanks alot <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>I'd pick outfitter. You can make stuff you can use (backpacks, armor, weaps). If you go alchemist you're going to have to pay out the nose for the rare drop portion of the scrolls anyways and if you're going to pay that much for 1 component, might as well pay a little more and just get the complete scroll from someone else.</DIV>

...which sounds like a great idea until you find out that in order to make a backpack you need to buy a stack of tempers and washes from an alchemist, and a buckle from a jewelerAt least an alchemist can make marketable products that *all* other crafters need without having to buy crap from 3 different people.

<DIV>I started wit a Guardian/Provisiner but made a monk alt. Now my Monk is my main, because I like her figthing style much much more. (and there are 4 to 5 times more Guardians than Monks on my Server). But i keep my Provisioner because I buy a new set of armor or weapons all 5-10 levels but i can go through a stack of food and drinks in one evening. In the long term, my Provisioner will be the most benefit. At lvl 50 i will not need any new armor (only when the level cap is raised beyond 50) but i will still go through food pretty quickly. For the essences i have found an Alchemist who makes me a app 3 for every stack of raw material I bring to him, so i can save my money for a bigger home.</DIV>

Which is making some alchemists angry cause as a tradeskill society levels their market is getting cut.</P>

I am also a provisioner, tier 2-3-4 food is the only way to fly, and since alot of the components are harvestable. Why not. Only real cost is time.

<DIV align=left>I think any adeventuring class can benefit from picking up a trade...that being said as a monk i went provisioner(well 19 craft at moment but ill be there tonite) for 3 reasons .....1 the roleplaying aspect of it, 2 the complete lack of dependecy on other trades, 3 the free food..not to mention when u start giving a few samples out  a group really likes having u around...i say pick up any trade as long as you are having fun with it...after all thats why we pay the monthly</DIV> <DIV align=left> </DIV> <DIV align=left> </DIV> <DIV align=left> </DIV> <DIV align=left> </DIV> <DIV align=left>Rolangard 24monk 19craft</DIV> <DIV align=left>toxxulia</DIV>
