Ok, I've read what it DOES, but.. I'm confused by its use, I' don't have it yet, get it next lvl, so I'm trying to figure out why in the world I would use it.Of course all the description says is "Increase your hate by 1"ok...1.Just 1.Huh?Is there some reason for this? or is it just an aggro increaser, does an increase of 1 really make a diffrence?

It's a taunt, that's it.

ok,Never use it then <img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Tend to only use Taunting Blow, as at least it does dmg. as well, of course I don't have to taunt all that often. Thanks for the info!

<blockquote><hr>SomeDudeCRO wrote:It's a taunt, that's it.<hr></blockquote>Not quite.Rescue serves as a rescue skill to save a party member, if it's successful it'll put you ahead of your target on the NPCs hate list. Ie. instant arggo.

<BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> Squallaby wrote:<BR><BR>Of course all the description says is "Increase your hate by 1"<BR> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE>thats a typo heh ... supposed to say "places you higher on mobs hate list by 1 point than anyone else" heh .... like a cleric draws aggro and starts dropping ... use rescue then taunt before he heals heh<BR>
<DIV>My assumption is that this skill automatically bumps you up one spot on the hate list. So far, it has yet to work for me. The first two times I used it, I may not have been second on the hate list. We had a berserker tanking, so I was not taunting throughout the fight. This may have caused the healer to be higher on the hate list than me. However, a while later we ran into a very tough fight. The clerics were getting low on mana very fast, so I started taunting the mob to make sure that I was second on the hate list behind the berserker. When the clerics were finally out of mana, and the berseker dropped to about 25% health, I used rescue in an attempt to tank the mob for the small remainder of health it had left. It stayed on the berserker... and I was pretty sure I was second on the hate list, considering I was taunting throughout most of the fight. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Has anyone else that's been a secondary tank been successful using this skill? Out of the few tries I've used, it has not for me. And with a 30 minute refresh timer, it seems unnecessary for it to take up one of my 24 slots if it is not working properly.</DIV>

I havn't used it since beta, but it did work then as a rescue skill, though I belive I had it at adept 1 back then.
<DIV>I use it atleast once a night and it has worked everytime i get instant aggro.</DIV>
<DIV>Interesting... I have app1 of it still. Doesn't seem like having it any higher should affect anything besides possibly refresh rate or power cost. I will try it out again sometime perhaps.</DIV>

Higher skills grants more damage, more reliable effect (taunt, rescue), more heal, more buff, more debuff, ect.

<DIV>Dinged 25 last nite and got Rescue....thought I'd try it out immediately. Had a berserker tanking a gnoll...hit rescue expecting mob to turn on me and berserker to say '[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] happened!'. Of course nothing happened other than the 30 minute timer reseting and the mob not even turning his head to recognize me :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So I moved my Rescue hot button close to my other useful ones that I hit alot like 'ultravision' and '/yell'. /sarcasm off</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I guess it'd be useful for those times a nuker accidently gets aggro ( but who wants to resue them anyways :manwink:</DIV><p>Message Edited by Craaq on <span class=date_text>12-20-2004</span> <span class=time_text>11:35 AM</span>

<DIV>You have to understand how aggro works.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you aren't the main tank, and you aren't using taunt at all, and the mob turns on the healer, it isn't going to do anything.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is the scenario..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mob_01's hate list:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Member_00 - Tank</DIV> <DIV>Member_01 - Scout</DIV> <DIV>Member_02 - Monk</DIV> <DIV>Member_03 - Nuker</DIV> <DIV>Member_04 - Nuker</DIV> <DIV>Member_05 - Healer</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now that could be in any order of course, but for the purposes of explanation, lets say thats how it is at the moment.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now something happens and it shoots the healer to spot number 1, now you have</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Healer</DIV> <DIV>Tank</DIV> <DIV>Scout</DIV> <DIV>Monk</DIV> <DIV>Nuker</DIV> <DIV>Nuker</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You hit rescue and now it's</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Healer</DIV> <DIV>Tank</DIV> <DIV>Monk</DIV> <DIV>Scout</DIV> <DIV>Nuker</DIV> <DIV>Nuker</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You didn't pull it off the healer bc you moved up one spot in the hate list, but that spot is still not number 1.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Rescue is a GREAT ability if you're the tank of the group, But if the healer is on the top of the list, and the main tank is number two, you don't help squat.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope that helps explain to the people that say it doesn't work.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Not saying it didnt work...just not very useful...When I'm tanking and hitting taunts I rarely, if ever, lose aggro, and if I happen to lose it a regular taunt gets it right back on me. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For a 30 minute timer repop, I would think it pops you right up the the #1 spot in aggro list, no matter where you are on the current list. It's called 'Rescue' after all...maybe they should rename it <EM>another_taunt_03</EM>. Moving from #4 to #3 in the scenario described doesnt do anything.</DIV>

<DIV>Its helpful when in fights where the mobs arent linked and u have to seperately taunt mobs to keep them on you, in the event that the cleric / healer / nuker / caster gets agro, u click this, it puts you one point above there agro, then taunt, and now u have the mob on you instead of the cleric / healer / nuker / caster. It is quite handy, even in situations where u do get multiple mobs that are linked sometimes there is always one person who never assists and takes agro, again, a nice way to get the agro back.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Aonein Amillion 26th Monk<BR>16th Outfitter<BR>Everfrost Server<BR><BR>Enlightened Aonein Amillion<BR>70th Stone Fist of The Celestial Fist<BR>Five Rings on Luclin Server<BR><BR>"We are the two halves of the Flowing Circle, the light and the dark.
