View Full Version : Effectiveness changed on skill bonuses

I've been using Brawler's Stance App2 for a while; it was a +11 bonus to deflection and defense and a -11 penalty to slash/crush/pierce. Yesterday I bought App3 and noticed that the skill changes are +/- 4 instead, and +5 to defense. From talking to a few monks today, I got a report that defense was +3 at app1, and two monks reported that defense was +5 at app3. One monk thinks their change was still +11 though they were busy with a quest and couldn't experiment further.I then checked Wisdom of Zephyl, app1. It used to be 11-12 bonuses, and now it's +4. So I went back and tested Call of Arms (app3) and it's +5 when it was also in the 10-12 range. Martial Focus is still giving +11 to parry and deflection. At first I thought this was the bugged deflection skill Moorgard mentioned, but because this applies to multiple skills and skill bonuses, including weapon skills and the Fighter-archetype skill Call of Arms, I think it's unrelated. While looking into this, we noticed some oddities with the Dual Wield skill too. Mine is 27 at 24.5. A 26 monk reported a skill of 38, a 27 monk reported a skill of 80, and a 23 monk reported a skill of 20.All numbers taken the morning of 12/4.

Hah. My dual-wield skill is 5/5I'm level 20 and just became a monk. I am fairly sure that Dual-Wield was a 'normal' number before the class change.Zadkiel.

<DIV>i've noticed this also. one thing that's been annoying me is safe-fall. i'm always taking fall damage trying to get the skill to go up, but it just sits at 50. </DIV>

<DIV>At 25 my dual wield skill was 31/31. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What in the world does this mean anyway? The effectiveness of my offhand? Because it doesn't seem to affect the rate my offhand attacks, like EQ1 (seems offhand weapons always attack when their timer is due).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Dual weild skill determines your chance at performing a succesful Dual weild ( both weps hitting at same time ) during any given combat round. The higher the skill, the more chance u have of performing a dual weild atk. Pretty much the same as EQ1, except, we have no DMG bonus on weps here ( not yet anyways ), but even then, DMG bonus didnt apply to your offhand till u bought the AA to make it do so.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Aonein Amillion 24th Monk<BR>Everfrost Server</DIV>
