<DIV>Does anyone know for certain what it does?  I use it on my buddy who is tanking for a nice self agility buff, but it doesn't seem to do anything for him at all.  I don't seem to take hits, block or parry for him at all.  Any idea what it does?</DIV>

<DIV>ITs supposed to allow you to block some of the hits that the character you put it on would have taken. Im not sure what kind of distance you need to be from him or her or how well it works but thats the idea.</DIV>

<DIV>okay, this is what it does.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>first it adds around 10 agi to you.  That is what everyone notices at first.</DIV> <DIV>for the defending part, whenever the person you defend is gonna get hit,  there is a chance of you Blocking or Riposte (maybe even parry) that attack.  as for distance, it has very long range.  I managed to riposte an attacking the MT had taken from across the first crater in Thundering Steppes. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Best to put it on the Main Tank.</DIV>

They/you Parry, Dodge, Deflect, Block more.

<DIV>Once again another great skill monks have to help increase the tanking power of a group.</DIV>

<DIV>It ups your agility, the targets agility and it gives you a chance to receive dmg for them.  Its our form of intervene imho.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I used it all day yesterday on our main tank and you'll get messages like (main tank hits you for 169pts of damge) etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So you help them tank BUT because of the increased agility you both get, you'll both evade/parry more.</DIV>

<DIV>When I attempt to use Staggering Stance, I receive the "Not Eligible Target" Message.  This makes sense in that you need to have a group member targetted.  But, if I'm the main tank, and I have to click on a group member to activate...then tab back to whatever mob we were on (hopefully not targetting something outside the group encounter)... it makes me wonder if there is an easier way to activate it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There anyway to macro it to a hotkey?  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any recommendations?</DIV>

<DIV>You dont take ant damage during Staggering Stance, all it does is add a chance for you to dodge or block a attack on the MA ( your should alwasy be putting this on the MA if you arent tanking, if you are tanking, i suggest putting it on the healers / clerics ). Intervene is what takes dmg cause you are intervening a atk, in other words, putting yourself in front of the mob so he hits you and not the target, but the person you casted Interevene on has to be close to you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Alot of people think Staggering Stance lets the Brawler / Monk take dmg cause of two reasons:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>1)</STRONG> he is standing in front of the mob taking riposte's or mob melee skills that are thrown forwards that will attack anyone in front ( LoS = Line of Sight ) of it</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>2)</STRONG> getting ae'd from casters thinking its there Staggering Stance taking DMG</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I constantly use this on the MA, i have 3 chat windows with seperated chat / melee / tells in each, i have all others atk, casts etc turned off cause i dont need to see it, and all i see is me blocking and dodging for the MA, i have not once taken dmg while using Staggering Stance. You will also notice your Defelction, Defense and Dodge skils going up while using this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is a little method i use for myself, when im tanking i use Brawlers Stance on me ( can only be put on yourself anyways ), i put Tranquil Blessing on the cleric / healer and also just before each pull i put Staggering Stance on the Cleric / healer also. So you are getting a increase of defense and deflection at the cost of offense, while also lowering the agro a cleric / healer will generate while spam healing and getting 10 agililty at App I Staggering Stance, increasing your chance to Dodge, Block etc. I also throw in Martial Focus while doing all this tp get the extra Deflect and parry skill from it, plus using Toughness. By using this method to tank, i can <STRONG>almost</STRONG> comfortably tank lvl 29++ mobs at lvl 24, but i can do it np with the right people in the group ( people who know what there doing and not just mashing buttons thinking there uber and casters who debuff mobs half way thru a fight debuffing everyhting that people have cast on the mob, ie: slow, weakness, lower ac debuff etc ). get a Druid or a Shammie who can cast wards on you while tanking in this manner, and you become quite a efficient little tank for a light armor class character, <STRONG><U>BUT</U></STRONG> dont get me wrong, id chop of my left leg to group with a plate class tank of any description any day.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When im not Tanking, i use Tranquil Blessing and Intervene on clerics / healers, and always keeping Staggering Stance going on the MA. Keep in mind if you let Staggering Stance buff run out on the MA, you will have to wait 30 seconds to recast it, so try to always keep the buff up and going. So this way you are lowerign the cleric / healer agro generated from debuffing / spam healing while interveneing any dmg thrown there way in the event you dont have a very good tank or for some unknown reason the tank cant get agro of the cleric / healer while also getting the agility bonus from Staggering Stance. Now if in the event the cleric / caster gets agro, you move close to the cleric / healer or ask her to come close to u, throw up Martial Focus and u will see that you intervene alot of the atks made towards the cleric / healer. At lvl 24, when buffed i have np getting close to 100 agility, 97 to be exact, and the hits intended for the cleric / healer which i intervene ( Intervene ( Adept I ) ) i dodge or block 80% of the time anyway.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just a few idea's for some people who dont fully have a battle plan 8- ), have fun.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Aonein Amillion 24th Monk<BR>Everfrost Server</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>So why does it say "main tank hits you for such and such dmg"?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That's riposte?</DIV>

<DIV>Ive never seen it say <main tank> hits me for ex amount, why is the mian tank hitting you anyway?, its like intervene in the sense you are putting your body in front of the atk to minimize the dmg done to the tank, but you dont take dmg from it, having a higher agility count make's it work more often. So the only thing you should see, <STRONG><U>IF</U></STRONG> you are being hit by anything, is <mob> hits you for ex amount, but like i said, i have not once taken dmg from putting this on a MA and i use it contuinously and its always up, when it hits 30 seconds remaining, its getting refreshed along with Wisdom of Zephyl cause they both last same amount of time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Aonein Amillion 24th Monk<BR>Everfrost Server</DIV>

<DIV>yup, played earlier and haven't seen any form of dmg taken while MT was getting hit.  just me doing block/riposte/parry to keep MT looking good.</DIV>
