Weight vs Armor Class for monks

Does weight matters for monks? I remember in EQ1 that you lost your ac bonus if you went over a certain weight. Any know if this is true? I am currently a brawler, and I dont seem to notice a difference.

There are no weight restrictions for Monks in EQ2 like EQLive has.
