Things you should know!

<DIV>I thought it would be a good idea to compile a thread of things you should know to become a Monk.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One thing I see people talk about is the different types of weapons used in the game. One person says the staff is best, the other says that bare fists are better. I must assume that if you are going to test this with your own character, it also would depend on your stat/skill level with that particular weapon as to the results you will yeild. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If so, and you use knucklers does the experience go into a different area than if you use a staff?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The reason I ask this is, when I tested the weapons that people said were the best, I found that the iron knucklers or bare fists yeilded the best results for me and not the elm staff. <DIV>bare fists? or wristwraps? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From my experience, if you use bare fists, you are cheating yourself. It only appears that you are doing more damage because of the delay on bare fists. You get bigger numbers, but attack more than twice as slow then using a bo staff. you attack almost 4 times as slow then using wristwraps. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With wristwraps you get alot of little numbers fast. This causes several things, 1) thundering fists has more chance to proc, 2) if you have gnoll or orc mastery, there are more chances for that to proc 3) you have a greater chance of interuppting and 4) if you miss, it does not hurt as bad as a slow bare fist strike.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I prefer the bo staff due to the look of the styles. The damage is comparable to wristwraps, just a bit slower to hit. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>just my opinion of course.</DIV>
