<DIV>Are eq2 monks weight restricted like they were in eq1?</DIV>

<DIV>I wouldn't think so.  And I don't remember hearing about it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Especially since you start out as a fighter like all the others, then switch to brawler. </DIV>

<DIV>Thanks Grunarch. From what I read, a monk is a 'decent' tank. I shall be duoing with a druid fury most likely. Should I be considering guardian? Paladin? ... as opposed to a monk? We hope to be a versatile duo, contribute in groups, and be able to get down and dirty if the MOB requires such. </DIV>

<DIV>From what I heard in beta, the brawlers were a bit deficient in tanking, but were very good in dps.  The devs were working to make them better tanks.  I'm sorry but that was like a month / month and a half ago, they might have "fixed' brawlers to be better tanks already and I just didn't read the follow ups.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For a duo group I would think a Monk / Fury would be excellent for taking on most single group content, and you wont have to worry about the "Tank" aspect at all.</DIV>

<DIV>Grunarch, thank you again. Good info for me, this being my first hour, let alone day <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Posted similar message on fighter forum, sorry for duplication. Methinks barbarian may be a great route, if sight is not too bad of a detriment.</DIV>

By the end of beta the 20+ class (monk or bruiser) were fine tanks compared to the others. And no, there's no weight restriction on any classes.

<DIV>Thanks for prompt reply. Off to monkify myself. Maybe barbarian, or perchance half elf so I can see at night LOL. GL to us all.</DIV>

<DIV>Hi this is Esar.  We can tank fine.  Just people were complaning b/c they wanted to tank ridiculous stuff or were overexaggerating.  Well anyways see you guys around.  I'm on permafrost.</DIV>

<DIV>From every thing i have read monks have no weight restrictions adn can tank on par as otehr fighter classes. I am goign to be making a kerra monk as they have good Str agi adn sta, also got a movement sight that i think would serve a monk well</DIV>

<DIV>I currently have a high elf brawler with the intent of becoming a monk. I am happy to observe that the starting racial stats doesnt seem to affect my performance. I can casually dispatch a solo orange mob. HO or Heroic Opportunity is your friend.</DIV> <DIV>I am glad that the weight restriction for the monk class was removed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Happy adventuring all.</DIV>

<DIV>Oddly enough I miss the weight restriction from my EQ1 monk.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But then I'm one of those oddballs that likes classes/races having lots of flavor and uniqueness.  I thought it added charm and extra strategy to monkly life.</DIV>
