<DIV>I was just browsing the Paladin board and saw a post regarding the fact that Paladin DPS seems to level out at level 50.  The bottomline of the thread was that since the paladin's damage levels out while the mobs keep getting more hit points and are tougher, the going really gets slow for a <U>solo </U>paladin at about level 50.  Since I have been debating on a zerk or pally for a bit  now (I have previously tried both up to level 20), it got me wondering a couple of things.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>First, with my previous pally and zerker trials, I really did not notice a significant difference in damage between a paladin and zerker up to level 20.  I assume this changes based on everything I have heard about the berserker.  If this is true, when do zerkers separate themselves from pally damage levels?  Second, do zerkers see a leveling off of DPS at 50 or do they continue to increase in this area (i.e. when do they hit their stride/sweet spot so to speak)?  Third, would you recommend a zerker <U>or</U> a paladin for someone who wants to play a high elf fighter type due to RP reasons?  I will play solo a lot (I believe) since I will have very irregular and limited play times. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

<DIV>For RP reasons you probably want to go pally, but zerker IS the better tank. Maybe you can RP a disgruntled high elf who went berzerk?</DIV>

<P>Zerker DPS definitely does not level out at 50...in fact it takes a big leap forward by virtue of the fact that you receive Open Wounds at leve 53 (i think).  This can be cast every 3 mins and makes burning groups down very easy.  Not long after that you get Ramapage which boosts your DPS against groups as well.  Plus the warrior AAs allow you to build in much more melee DPS than the Crusader ones.  </P> <P> </P>

I believe Paladins are a bit more slow and steady damage. They hurt the mob, heal themselves, and slug it out over the long fight.Zerkers are more burn it down now. You don't have an in-combat heal (potions, etc suck) as a zerker so have to do mass damage and kill the mob before they kill you.Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you will die cause the mob gets some lucky hits in a row. A paladin can heal out of it, a zerker can't.I haven't played a paladin for quite a while so I can't compare them against the same mobs if they have the same equipment and the same level CAs.<div></div>
