Didn't the splitpaw taunt used to be on a different timer than our regular single target taunts?

I could have sworn that as recently as monday they didn't share a refresh timer.

Am I losing my mind?

That's why people recommended to get it, it was an additional taunt that scaled, no? I'd swear it was on a different timer too, though am not 100% sure atm.

Sorry, I wans't very concise in my first post.

Last night I noticed that Bully was sharing the same refresh time as Goading Gesture. Previously they were on exclusive refresh timers.

Goading Gesture (the Splitpaw Taunt) does share a timer with regular taunts.

The advantage of Goading Gesture over level 45 and below single target taunts is that it has a high hate gain and a 10% chance to trigger twice with a single cast. GG increases hate by 792-968 which is mean average of 880 hate (for me at level 60, I am not sure if it scales at lower levels.) With a recast of 8 seconds, it will trigger its "double taunt" an average of once every 80 seconds provided that you always que up your taunt so it fires the instant it refreshes. This gives us a grand average total of 9680 hate over the course of an 80 second fight.

The level 45 single target taunt is Bully. It increases hate by 584-714 which is mean average of 649 hate. Over the course of the same 80 second fight described above, Bully will give you a grand average total of 5192 hate.

Clearly at this level and below, GG is superior to Bully.

However, when you get Outrage at level 59, you single target hate generation with an Adept III Outrage is 905-1205 for a mean average of 1055 Hate per cast. Over the course of the same 80 second fight described above, A3 Outrage will give you a grand average total of 8440 hate.

While on the surface, it might seem that GG is still superior, but when you take into account the fact that many fights will not last 80 seconds, the chance that GG will actually trigger it's "double taunt" drops dramatically the shorter the fight becomes. A3 Outrage is also 36% harder to resist VS Goading Gesture which is 30% harder to resist. For me, I will take the consistent 1055 average hate and the harder resistability from A3 Outrage rather than the 880 average hate from GG hoping it will double taunt.

As an aside, I noticed what seemed to be increased resistability with GG against T5 and T6 mobs even though it does not specify in the description that resistability increases against targets above a certain level. It may have just been my imagination, but I believe I started getting far fewer taunt resists when I made the switch to A3 Outrage. Plus I saved a bundle on my car insurance.

I wasn't questioning the relative value of the taunt.

The issue is that previous to tuesday, I am 99% sure that it was on a different refresh timer than my berserker single target taunt.

They have shared the same timer for a very long time. 6 months at the least and I believe much longer.
